I've always been a Dansby fan but holy **** is he full of himself. Pretty much said when he left the Cardinals weren't good he comes back and it was his work ethic that turned the defense around they guys seen his work ethic and it inspired them.


It's his destiny to be a Cleveland Brown. Said he had no talks with the Cardinals. Goal is getting a statue in Cleveland.

Has nothing but great things to say about BA.

While he was a major contributor and probably did inspire some of the other players with his work ethic, etc...

I feel confident that the Cards FO saw the probability of his leaving and will take the necessary steps to make sure the team keeps going forward.

One thing I GREATLY APPRECIATE about my baseball Cardinals is that NOT many of them ever leave the nest.

The way Dansby came across it was as if he was responsible for turning the Cardinals around. According to him, he was the catalyst. His work regimen was "contagious" and the other players hopped on board.

By that same logic, what then happened in Miami? Why wasn't he the catalyst there? Why were the coaches so quick to let him go?

Dansby said he never knew of the Cardinals' offer because his agent never told him of it and that all his agent said to him was that he would talk to the Cardinals at the combine.

No buying this at all.

Wasn't it Dansby's plan all along to hit the market, regardless of what the Cardinals were offering? Wasn't his primary motivation this past season an effort to hike up his market value and parlay it into one last big money contract?

All year long in interviews---it wasn't so much about the team---it was about how he should be player of the year....all about how young he feels and how dedicated and driven to excel he is.

Yes, at the end of the day this is a business---and every game and season is an audition of sorts. I think everyone gets that. However...

The clincher in this interview was when MJ asked him how tough it must have been to have not stayed with the Cardinals especially in light of what it means to him to make the Cardinals' Ring of Fame.

Dansby's answer was that he wanted the Cleveland franchise and their fans to build him a statue---that this is "my calling---my destiny."

Now, to be fair---he was very thankful for the Cardinals "reaching out" to him and he called BA and TB "masterminds who work very well together."

Funny, though, just as he rarely did in interviews during the season, he did not go out of his way to give props and thanks to his teammates.

No---it was he who motivated them---or at least that's what he made it sound like.

What one may wonder is---what it is going to be like for him next year when he doesn't have a DT/DE like Calais Campbell to line up behind. That was Dansby's luxury in AZ---profiting from being behind a double team on Campbell and not having to fend off guards and tackles on a regular basis.

KD was a Cardinal last season , did a fine job for us , I wanted him back . He jumped on Clevelands 14 mil. guarantee (I probably would have done the same) he's a Brown now and I'm ready to put him in the past . Going forward , KD can do or say whatever he wishes , it won't affect me .

Interesting... he had nothing but praise for the organization on Gambo/Burns yesterday and said they gave him a very respectable offer. Only thing that ticked people off in that interview was he talked about going to Cleveland as "supernatural"/gift from God instead of really just admitting it was about the money (which I don't think people really hold against him).

Sounds like a lot changed in 24 hours. Maybe he got some wrath from some ex-teammates/people within the organization... or maybe he was just being fake yesterday.

Well, that actually gives some pretty good insight on why he's never really gotten much support from his peers for the Pro Bowl.

But, whatever. He was great for us last year. And, he gave me one of my top favorite Cardinals moments ever when he scored the TD in OT for the Green Bay playoff game. (Which, this interview reminds me, in the postgame interview he talked as if he had personally coached Adams into the turnover, knowing he would score off of it.

Who the hell really cares WHY he played like he did last year? We tied our best regular season record in AZ, with more dominating wins in one season than we get in about three or four, and he was a big part of that.

Yeah, it's right after Timmy Hightower's TD in the NFC Championship game for me. Same endzone for both. They even crossed the goal line at roughly the same spot.

I think he played his ass off and every major part of the team consistently lauded him and called him one of their leaders. His job wasn't to take anyone under his wing. His job was to lead the D, which he did by all accounts to its best unit by far that any Cardinals fan has seen in eons.

Bash the guy all you want but his play on the field and love he repeatedly got from guys like Fitz, Dockett and BASK pretty much flies in the face of everything you're saying as far as his worth on the field.
