Sounds about right.

If they only paid him the vet. minimum he would not be able to cash a check big enough to screw over the Cardinals again, walk out on the team again, and fund his life for free again.

Cannot WAIT to see if he signs anywhere since I do not see any team signing him to anything substantial

The thing I really wonder about is how much desire and passion he has for football. In all the time he was out, you never really heard much from him. How much does he really want to come back vs how badly does he need money? I don't think he can be anywhere close to the player he was before without the desire. I just am not sure that he has it.

What a breath of fresh air Michael & Keim have brought to this team. Winning requires tough decisions & IMO this an easy decision for these 2!!! The fire burns deep inside those 2 gentleman to win the Super Bowl title for this team. Btw Keim promised me in Miami over a few beers last year I would see it in my lifetime & I believe him.

I look to the Patriots as the prime example. Sometimes winning teams take risks on personnel moves and questionable characters. They have constantly taken chances on "washed up" or questionable players and make it work (i.e. Randy Moss, Welker, Blount, etc...). If they plan on cutting bait with a player, they trade them and at least gets some value (i.e. Chandler Jones, Jaime Collins, etc...). They don't just wait til the last minute and dump the player for nothing.
Hopefully DWash really is washed up and they know more about the situation than any of us. But I'll believe it when I see it.

None of those risks were significant financial risks for the team though, which it could be easily argued that keeping DWash at anything above the guaranteed minimum would be.

I would've kept him through camp to see if he can play. That wouldn't have hurt a thing. If he could play, he helps. If he couldn't, you still cut him and get cap space.

I guess there's always the chance he was a complete ass in the meeting too.

In this scenario, would his contract be guaranteed if he was injured in camp?
