Well.. the 2 teams that are projected to finish in 4th & 5th place respectively in the NL "Worst" will oppose each other to launch the 2006 regular season schedule.....

The Dbacks will send-out their ace, Brandon Webb, to see if he can live-up to that billing and help set a positive tone to start the season....

Here's the players who are projected to be starting for the Dbacks defensively on Opening Day:

Conor Jackson: 1B

Orlando Hudson: 2B

Craig Counsell: SS

Chad Tracy: 3B

Johnny Estrada: C

Shawn Green: RF

Eric Byrnes: CF

Luis Gonzalez LF

Ideally, I would like the batting order to be:

1) Eric Byrnes
2) Orlando Hudson
3) Luis Gonzalez
4) Shawn Green
5) Chad Tracy
6) Johnny Estrada
7) Conor Jackson
8) Craig Counsell
9) Brandon Webb

Although.. it seems that Melvin will insist on batting Counsell on the top of the order, however, he would be ideal to have him batting in front of the pitchers since Counsell can execute the "little things" to make the hitters advance......

I honestly dont like the idea of Green batting clean-up, however, he's the only proven 'legit power hitter in the line-up while I believe it would put too much pressure on Tracy if he was hitting in that spot... He would tend to pull off the ball more often than not instead of trying to do what he does best, which is to spray it to all fields...

I like Byrnes batting lead-off because he's a potential 20/20 guy.. would be ideal since he's capable leading-off w/a HR which would get the Dbacks off to a quick lead which seldom happened last season....

Hudson keeps on improving his offensive stats each and every year and he does possess some above-average speed...

Jackson shouldnt hit higher than 7th at this time because again it would put too much pressure on him.......

I do plan on writing a more in-depth preview of this season, but probably wont post it until Tues (true it will be after Opening Day, but still not too late to do so)....

I am awfully sick, but I am going to try to go anyway. I haven't been to the Rockies stadium.

Coors is my favorite ballpark in the NL West, even over Dodger Stadium. I just love the exterior architecture on that stadium. The view of the Rockies is awesome.....and the local pubs beat anything we have here in Phoenix. I've always had a really good time.

Yep. Coors is my favorite stadium I have been too so far (Tampa Bay, NY Mets, Angels, Dodgers, Dbacks, Rockies, Padres).

They should have a free preview, like MLB Extra Innings does. I might be interested in this, too.

Have you been to PetCO yet?? I strangely haven't made it yet....but I did actually kind of always like the Murph. I think I'll catch a game here in the summer.

Me and my brother are trying to set up a road trip so we can check out all the new ballparks in the Great Lakes Area.

Yep, Petco last year. It is cool, but there is just something about Coors.

My buddy just moved to the bay and I am going to SF and OAK this summer. I am pretty jealous of your list. ;)

Well, I just signed up for the GameDay audio, but it's not working.

The site says Akamai is having problems, but I am not sure if it is them or my computer here at work. :(

I signed up for mlb.tv and it's working pretty well, although I think I'd almost prefer commercials during breaks than hearing Colorado announcers say stuff like "Test 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8" and "Test 1-2 1-2"

Is the tv stuff brought to you by Akamai?

Hmm. The tv streams are new, right? Maybe they are so focused on that that they neglected radio. :?

Well, some of the streams are working now. I still can't get the Pirates game, but the Diamondbacks game is on (can't get KTAR, though).

Is it blacked out?

I get some message about the game not having started yet or something. I am not sure if it is blacked out or not (these audio streaming rules/laws are hard to comprehend).

Dbacks are winning but my fantasy team is 0-11 with 1 BB and 1 R :(

At least my pitching staff is doing well.
