This is ridiculous....my first TV game of the year and I can't handle Brennaman anymore.

BRB--switching on Schulte.

I was thinking the same thing. He was already getting on the hitters and they were only in the 5th inning.

Maybe I'm just too used to the Jack Bucks and the Vin Scullys....but why in the world, in the Top of the 9th of a close game...is Thom talking about his wife??

I'm a Thom fan. Orlando Hudson, thus far, I am not a fan of. He's making Royce look like a HOF'er. Turn it around Hudson

Throw the ball over the plate Valverde....you've got good stuff, if they hit it they hit it.

Papa Grande a little wild. Settle down and throw gas.

LMAO......Sullivan fell asleep at first base in the bottom of the 9th??

Good outing by the bullpen except for Mullholland. Win the rubber match tomorrow.

Double play to win. Great play by Estrada! Papa Grande with the save. Great pitching and timely hitting by Gonzo. Let's get the series win tomorrow.

No kidding. Is it just me or does it seem that every time he throws the ball he almost falls down after his release. He needs to be more in control throughout his release. Also, he needs to add another pitch. All he throws is fastball after fastball

Call me crazy but did anyone else question Melvin using Andy Green and Eric Byrnes as pinch hitters???????? Why would you not use Connor Jackson???? I would even rather see Easley or Snyder (even though he can't hit to save his life but does have power if a miracle happens) get an opportunity. I am so sick of Connor Jackson rarely being used. We have only played one game and had a day off before today so the "rest" card won't work. What is Melvins reluctance to use him???? UGHHHHHHH

Conner batting late in a game sounds OK as long as we don't have to see his hands of stone on the field afterward.

I disagree. First off, while Connor's defense might not be that great, Tony Clark is no Gold Glover himself. Second, Melvin does not let CJ get into any kind if groove because he rarely plays him. If Melvin would simply let him play an entire series every once in awhile maybe he could start to learn a bit more. Sitting on the bench every other game, especially after they already had the day off before, will do nothing for his development. Plus, we (the Dbacks and their fans) are banking on these prospects to develop as pitching appears to be our missing link from '07 and beyond. We are all automatically assuming that Jackson, Q, Drew, and Upton will be mainstays in our everdyday lineups for years to come.... How is that supposed to happen when a dumba$$ manager like Melvin hinders their progress. It's time for Byrnes to step in, like Beane does, and tell Melvin to play these guys. The last thing we need is for us to sign 2 elite pitchers next offseason and not have these prosepects ready till 2 or 3 years later. There's really no excuse for Q not being on the roster and Drew should be up very soon. It's time to start the revolution

Positive notes from Wed nights game:

El Duque!!!!! 5IP, 6 H, ER, 2 BB, 8 K's. Those are great lines and hopefully he can keep that up. He was having trouble with Estrada and the signs but hopefully that was just first game mix-ups. He was very efficient and showed extreme guts. He gets the game ball.

Gonzo- 3/4, 2 2B's, R, 2 RBI's. His defense sucks but his bat seems the same. Hopefully he can keep it up. I would love to see an AL team take him at the break for some decent value so we can let Q in at LF

Counsell- Same old Counsell. Got a hit and got hit by a pitch. On base twice and scored once. Good defense as well

Tracy- Not a very good night but he got his first hit of the season and first RBI of the year as well. Should expect good things from him tomorrow

Estrada's Defense- Threw out Gonzales on a strkeout, throw'em out double play. Ended the game the same way by picking off Sullivan at 1B after a Valverde KO. Handled miscommunication with El Duque very well. Also, after Valverde threw 5 straight balls in the 9th, Estrada came out and calmed him down and I don't think Valverde threw a ball after that.

The Bullpen besides Mullholland- Aquino looked solid, Lyon cleaned up Mulhollands mess, Vizcaino proved why he's prob our best arm in the pen, and Valverde got the save. Nice work!

Yeah, it all looked very solid except for Mulholland. I was very encouraged to see El Duque being so crafty. He has lost velocity over the last couple of years, but if he continues to mix up his pitches, location and releases, it will keep the batters off balance. Great first outing by him!

Props to Conor getting that hit. Props also to Hudson for getting a hit to start everything. Boos to Snyder who could not even get a sac fly with the pitcher up next. Can't complain as the D'Backs score three runs.

Tracy with a home run, 4-0! I have a feeling Chad is going to have an All-Star year.

Snyder makes sure he gets the runner on third in by hitting a 2-run homer. 6-0!

D'Backs being very patient and making the most when the opportunity presents itself. 10-0! Things are not going well with the Rockies. A lot of walks and a dropped flyball.

Hard to complain about the Dbacks starting pitching thus far ... 3 games, 3 solid outings
