Terry Mulholland sucks. I never wanted this has been. I can't believe they can't find a better lefty than him. They still can win this.

D'Backs lose 3-2. This game should of been a victory. Nice to see Gonzo still can't get a runner in from third with less than two outs.

I know it's the first game but this stuff drives me crazy.

Terrible starters (with the exception of Webb) a terrible bullpen, and the inability to get the important hits...this sounds just like...last years team!!! At least we were able to get rid of Glaus, unfortunately we can't get rid of the other major mistakes of Joe Jr. the last few years, with Ortiz going down as one of the worst signings in the history of baseball. At least we have a system loaded with top talent, thank god for Mike Rizzo and the boys...

I wish they could get rid of Ortiz, Gonzo and Green and start the youth movement now. They definitely need to get starting pitching in the free agent market next year.

I think this team will be in the NL West hunt for the entire year because the west is weak.

Wow, you guys are pretty reactionary. Our bullpen nor our starting staff will be as bad as last year's where everyone not named Valverde and Webb was downright awful. There's still some crap out there (Ortiz, Mulholland, Grimsley, possibly El Duque) but with Vizcaino, Lyon, Valverde, and Aquino, and Cruz in the bullpen we have some guys who throw hard.

The biggest problem is going to be the middle of the lineup when compared to the rest of the NL West. I think Tracy is best served batting in the fifth or second spot in the lineup and the two guys following him in the order are finished.

The bullpen was good today except for Mulholland. The problem today was the hitters could not get the runners in when they had the chance. Counsell and Gonzo both had a runner on third and one out and could not do anything and Byrnes can't advance the runners with no outs. I hope in the future they can get it done but today reminded the fans of last year.

I think at this point, it's different levels of crap. We were pretty spoiled a couple years back in terms of pitching. The guys that you mention that are good, I like as well, but none of them seem capable of staying healthy. Not a good sign for young pitchers. Valverde is definitely legit, but there are tons of question marks about the rest of the bullpen. In terms of starters, you have a #1 in Webb, and a lot of 4-5 type rotation guys. (on a contending team) I expect we'll lose a fair share of games but I am excited to see whether Young and Drew can come up and contribute.

My issue with your post was that you seemed all up in arms about the fact that we're most likely not going to be a good team this year, but now that you say you're excited for the future I'm hearing you.

Everyone in Arizona needs to realize that we were one of the worst teams in baseball for the brilliance of our former GM. The DBacks are finally going through with the inevitable and rebuilding, a few years late in my opinion. The most exciting thing for me is that we finally have a GM with a plan and a blueprint for what he wants to do both now and in the future that doesn't involve begging MLB for money because he bounced some paychecks.

I signed up for mlb.tv and it's working pretty well, although I think I'd almost prefer commercials during breaks than hearing Colorado announcers say stuff like "Test 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8" and "Test 1-2 1-2"
Just noticed mlb.tv has a "boss button." Too funny.

Did Melvin start Clark ahead of Jackson? Why? Freaking Melvin.

Exactly what I said. And Davannon over Byrnes after he played so well in the first game. Melvin sucks, I don't get it

Here we go again..... A one run lead and Mullholland is in and just walked the 1st batter with 4 straight balls. Take notes Dbacks, thats how you bunt a runner over. Mulholland out after facing 2 batters. A$$hole
