If the offensive line coach is that good maybe we need to be talking to him.

Yes Cal's entire coaching staff is amazing. Rodgers is highly overrated a product of the system, Arrington is highly overrated a product of the system, the OL was starting 3 new guys and a 4th at a new position, the WR's were hurt. Just amazing that Tedford won that many games with no talent at all.

:D

They had a good OL but really good RB's and a great QB will make an OL look good too. Arrington sees the hole and hits it, Lynch does too, Lynch will be better than JJ IMHO.

Sorry but you dont need all american or high draft pick prospects on your Oline to have a great unit.
Following that logic out to its conclusion - We should deliberately wait until after the draft and find the worst remaining linemen available.

There may be great units that don't have high-profile linemen on them. But having a Jonathon Ogden on one doesn't hurt. Having a Boselli as your LT doesn't hurt. Having Larry Allen (in his prime) on one doesn't hurt. Having Leonard Davis on one doesn't hurt.

Within the context of total team priorities, you do whatever it takes to put the best five players out there - whether they're comprised of UDFA's and/or high draft choices. Whatever options are available to you - a high draft pick, a sleeper, a FA, an UDFA or via a trade - you take advantage of all possibilities to get the job done.

don't get into the system garbage. every player is a product of a system or a system player. they go hand in hand. what you should judge a player on is if he a play maker. as far as a rb is concern, is he the type of back that will take it the distant on any given play. does he strike fear in a defense every time he in the back feild. if yes is the answer then you should draft him. personally i like eric shelton of louisville and fason.

How does my comment even come close to what you said? Your conclusion isnt even close and just putting word in my mouth.

The only conclusion to my logic is that you dont need all americans to have a great oline. You need a group of 5 guys that work well together. Never said that 1st rounders arent usefull. but having a bunch of high draft picks doesnt mean a good oline either, see Shelton, Kendall, Davis and the big red lie.

Really bro you read way to much into comments trying to figure out what they mean when there is nothing to read but what they say at face value.

FWIW--

JJ was on NFL total Access. Nice kid. Said that he would make every team that passed on him pay.

Dont know if he can back it up, but love that attitude.

I was being facetious, I'm one of the big defenders of both Rodgers and JJ, several people have said they're the product of a system, a system that apparently makes both QB's and RB's, and OL's for that matter look better than they really are.

like i said before, i don't by into labeling a player "a system player". every player plays in a system. i know everyone here on this board has their favorite player that they think the cardinals should draft. that is fine. that what this board is for. personally i don't follow a lot of players coming out of college. i follow a few college teams and look at few players from those teams. so if someone says that jj arrington is the man, then i say let see. eric shelton and lefors could improve this team for years to come. lefors will take a couple of season. shelton could help the cardinals right away. those are just my opinions.
