Just like with Chris Young, you gotta give Qualls a little leeway. He has pitched in a ton of games back to back. Let him get a night or two off and see what he does. As for Drew, I have no idea how that happened. But in baseball you win 60 and lose 60, it is what you do with those other 40 games that decides where you go in the season. Am I pissed Drew threw the game away? Yes, but it is one game, we get back winning series and we will be fine.

Does Steven Drew have some kind of Epilepsy or other disorder?

Because last night it looked like he had a spasmatic fit on that throw that SHOULD have ended the game. Definitely NOT Mr. Clutch.

Greg Schulte said this morning that the grass was extremely wet and Drew simply lost control of the ball. He said after the game they walked across the field to get on their busses and he couldn't believe how wet/damp the grass was. Said it's a common occurence in LA that at night, the temps drop dramatically and dew sets in on the grass.

I see a difference between them, though.

Chris Young has the potential to be a solid 30-30 hitter if he can discipline his swings, which he is doing so far this season. And, of course, he's a very good fielder and could be a great one.

Chad Qualls has never shown the potential to be anything but an average Closer at best.

Do you think that's an accurate evaluation?

The bullpen blows a 3-0 lead and the Diamondbacks lose 6-3 on a walk-off homer. What a joke, new faces in the bullpen but we still get the same results.

Qualls does not have a dominant pitch. He is NOT a closer.

2-2 heading into the top of the 8th and Boyer comes in and gives up a run. Same old story. The bullpen sucks.

Qualls comes in the 8th inning and gives up a run. Is that a surprise to anyone?

9-7 Diamondbacks in the bottom of the 6th. Haren is 4-4 so far. Also, Reynolds has a home run but he is playing hurt. Looks like he has a bad knee. Hope it's not too serious.

Diamondbacks win 9-7 and the bullpen comes through. Gutuerrez throws two shutout innings and Qualls pitches the 9th.

Seriously, because he is starting to heat up. Average back up to .220 and only one RBI behind CY. 1 for 2 with 3 walks. He also has a .355 OBP.

Diamondbacks beat the Phillies and the bullpen only gave up one run(Heilman) in the 9th inning.:) Johnson was hitting first in the line-up and had two homers. I hope Hinch keeps him hitting there when Jackson gets back.

8 innings against a legit line-up. Ian Kennedy becoming a man.

And then the bullpen blows it again in the 9th as Gutierrez gives up a homer to Werth. 3-2 bottom of the 9th.

Diamondbacks lose thanks to the bullpen again. How much longer do we have to watch this crap before we see a change?

For those of you who did not like Chip Hale as the third base coach, you are really not going to like Bo Porter. This guy does not have a brain. Tie game in the bottom of the 8th with a man on second and no outs, a line drive single to left and he sends the runner. He was out by fifteen feet. Earlier in the game with two outs and the pitcher on deck, a base hit and he does not send the runner. Of course Lopez then made the third out. Argghhh!

Reynolds drives in the go-ahead run and now Qualls is pitching, trying to get the save. Please earn your money today Chad.
