If you're tired of listening to Chris Berman
The 2B-SS platoon of Wilson and Pennington against the LHP went 0-6 and left 5 runners on base. Each of them is batting in the .100's. Add that to the pitcher batting 9th and, once they go past our #6 hitter, it's cake.
When Hill is back at 2B and, hopefully, Didi playing every day, it is not only going to help our offense, it is going to take some pressure off our relievers who, right now, can't afford to make one bad pitch.
Collmenter pitched a strong 6th-7th-8th, but still cut our 2-run lead to one run. Luckily Putz held on this time for the save.
The good news is that we've won 4 out of 5. I have high hopes once our injured players come off the DL.
Anyone else notice that the very first splitter JJ threw last night was effective? I could tell from the first one that he had it and I could exhale.
I'm becoming more and more convinced that Cahill would be better as a middle reliever than a starter.
When opposing teams see him for the 2nd and 3rd times in a game, Cahill seems to get hit harder, walks more and generally tires easily...
Last night, in the middle of the 5th inning, he looked as though he had just pitched a complete game the way he was huffin and puffin....
has anyone else noticed that steve (our play by play guy, won't try his last name) acts like every fly out is going to be a home run? drives me nuts!
Steve is a homer, as are most play-by-play and field announcers. Would we expect anything less from a first-time D'back? Of course not.has anyone else noticed that steve (our play by play guy, won't try his last name) acts like every fly out is going to be a home run? drives me nuts!

And he still has difficulty saying which outfielder is calling for the ball in left-center or right-center. Other than that, Steve has gotten off to a good start.
When Joe Borowski joined him and Brenly in the booth tonight, Steve was so relaxed in his chair, leaning back, he looked a head shorter than either of them.
I think Steve is the right combination of professional and personable. Steve>>>Sutton and Bob Brenly>>>>>>Grace.
I like that the few times they show a shot of the concession stands, our guys refer to a beer as a beer. As opposed to Sutton and Grace's (wink, wink) "adult beverages" references.
I'm sorry but you must be watching a different game. Steve is horrible and can't tell if the ball is going 100 feet or 350 feet. It has nothing with being a homer. He is terrible and it's very hard to listen to him. He comes off like a minor-league announcer.
Just got back from the game... Gotta say - on a beautiful evening, with the roof popped open, Chase Field is a really, really nice place to be. 29,000 in attendance tonight so a nice crowd to boot.
McCarthy really isn't good... He's immensely hittable.
Man do we need our injured players back... Marte really isn't that impressive at all. Pennington and Wilson are putrid.
I'm seriously wondering what's up with Miggy and Prado. They both look lost up at the plate. Prado was seriously bad. Didn't pull one ball tonight... not even a foul ball.
And I REALLY hope DiDi is ok... That was very scary! And, oh yea - Sipp sucks!![]()
