I don't find Cahill to be a disappointment, but only because I don't expect much!

He is quite bi-polar in that he is either lights out, or woeful!
I wonder if his weight loss during the off-season, which probably helped his stamina, took something away from his fast ball.

Wade Miley gave up four walks in the top of the first but, thanks to a double play grounder, not a hit and not a run scored. Then in the bottom of the first, our batting order supported him with a HR and a run scoring triple. 2-0 D'backs.

Then Miley settled down in the top of the 2nd. On Wade Miley garden gnome night, I guess it got to him in the 1st inning.

Oops, another walk in the 3rd -- his fifth. Then erased on a double play. Then two more got on and left on base. A lotta pitches. It will be a long night for the bullpen.

So out of the ordinary for the garden gnome. I guess the next time they plan a night for him, Wade will say, "No, thanks!" :)

A Dbacks win today puts them in first place!

Garland on the mound for the Rockies today. I seem to remember him not liking pitching at Chase Field for us. Lets hope we enhance his displeasure today.

Miggy is so close to breaking out at bat. With the return of Jason Kubel and Miggy not having to bat cleanup, it is going to happen.

There you have it - Reynolds, Bell, and Putz close it out for another quality start by Corbin, taking 3 of 4 from the Rockies to grab a share of first, 4-2. Bring on the Giants.

MLB's leader of blown saves clumsily manages to stumble into his 5th save (against 3 blown saves). I have very little confidence in Mr. Putz. He's off to a horrid start.

And then there's David Hernandez, who has 2 blown saves against 0 saves.

We're not going to stay in first if THAT keeps up.

Odds are that at least one of the three main BP pitchers (Bell, Hernandez, Putz) will figure it out by May. All are too talented to be struggling this consistently.

Just happy we're tied for first. Love Corbin and his sub 2.00 ERA.

I can't see how Parra can be kept out of the lineup. Not only does he get on base and makes things happen, he is their best defensive outfielder.

Yup. Has been and continues to be one of my favorites! I wonder where all those people are who last year laughed when I would contend that Parra could easily take over CF from CY??? :)

You won't hear from them but I do remember you saying so (about 14 million times)! :D
