Why do they do it then???
Just my opinion obviously, but I think they do it because as an opposing coach your head has to be spinning, thinking of all the stuff they're willing to try. Just like the ineligible receiver they used 3 times against Baltimore. That didn't win the game, and they probably won't even do it again, but it drives opposing coaches crazy trying to plan for everything.

Why is the coach getting the hate and not the quarterback?

Exactly this has nothing to do with Bellicheat. Brady admitted he liked the balls under deflated. This is purely Brady & a team ballboy who are doing this.

If that is the case then Brady should be suspended if not for the Super Bowl then for next season.

To my knowledge, Brady has not admitted anything. The NFL rules state that balls have to be approved by the QB so ultimately it IS on Brady but he has not admitted to tampering with the balls. A coach would not demand something with ball inflation, it is the QB who picks how he wants his footballs.

I agree women's soccer is more fun to watch because they don't pull the same BS Male players try. In all my years of coaching I have always said I would much prefer coaching girls/women's soccer because you don't have to put up with the testosterone. That is not to say there aren't other problems with girls/women however I have found if you are straight up and honest with them, they will give their all for you and you will usually end up with a good team that gets along. Give them your expectations up front and all is generally well. You as a coach must honor your expectations as they will remember them.

This is precisely why I enjoy coaching girls basketball more than boys. While sometimes it's fine with boys, they can be incredibly stubborn and thickheaded, to go along with the testoterone. Both have their pros and cons to coach, but I prefer the attitudes I see with our girl players.

And apparently Andrew Luck has a friend or friends on the Ravens team who told him they believed the Pats were giving them under inflated balls to kick and that's why Luck at some point grabbed one of the Patriots game balls, thought it was under inflated, and told his coaches who told the refs.

The word is they found out from the interception, not from luck

Interesting.

Funny how with these stories so often the original version and the end version wind up not being the same. They'd been talking locally that Luck was the one who first noticed it because he picked up one of the balls that went to the sideline at one point and said this ball is way under inflated.

Perhaps Luck checked out the interception ball? Sounds like that would be plausibile given the information out there. He heard about it from a Ravens friend, the INT happened and he saw the opportunity to check it out on the sideline. It's most likely he'd notice the difference in pressure rather than most other players out there, especially defenders.

Just checked my mountain bike and motorcycle tire pressures. Underinflated.

On the radio this morning reports are coming out that officials planned to check the balls at halftime already, found the balls to be underinflated, inflated them and then the new set of balls by games end were underinflated as well.

According to MAtt Leinart all QBs tamper with footballs. Except Kurt. He said Kurt never did that.

John we know that will never happen. In fact I'd be suprised if the NFL does anything or very little to the Pats on this matter unless some serious evidence like pics, vid or a ballboy barks like a dog.

Bucky,

You are probably right. Other than forfeiting a draft pick I do not see them doing anything to them. If the Pats win the SB and the league does comes down on Brady then he will probably retire. What more does he have to prove.

So you're saying if you break the law...it's OK? There is a code of conduct that the player must follow, so I would think that management would be held to a higher standard. I am management and I am held to a higher standard than the union people I supervise.

Messing with the integrity of the game should be a major violation of the rules. IMO

Typical media overblowing this. Lets get on with the Super Bowl and stop wasting time on this.

Then why are they doing it? :mulli:

Believe me it makes a differance our QB used to do the same thing. Now does it affect how great a team the Pats have been for 15 years? No, but when you cheat or break the rules there should be consequences...not just an "oh well".

Balls must be between 12.5 and 13.5 psi at inspection by officials. If the Pats inflate to the minimum (12.5 psi) it almost goes without saying that the elements will bring the psi below minimum over the course of 3 hours.

Saying the ball feels too tight, let a little air out of it is a lot different than breaking a law. Former NFL QBs have been coming out in droves saying this is completely normal.
