On an online Arizona sports-chat site, a commenter named “NeverSayDieFan,” challenges anyone to name two NFL teams more disliked outside their home areas than the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots. (Although he’s willing to give the Dallas Cowboys honorable mention.)

This thread: The "Haters Bowl"....

Do any teams (honorable mention to the Cowboys, of course) inspire more dislike (outside of their own fan bases) than the Seahawks or Patriots?
I would say, probably not. Personally, I have absolutely ZERO interest in watching the game. Perhaps, I can stumble onto a "Gilligan's Island" marathon instead to spend the time.

Mark :)

BASK-ing in the 70 degrees outside!

Another contributor, “40yearfan,” spells out exactly what he wants to see: “Patriots 47, Hawks 3, (and) the Seahawks play so badly, NFL declares them ineligible for the next three Super Bowls.”

Same thread:

Patriots 47

Hawks 3

The Seahawks play so badly, the NFL declares them ineligible for the next 3 SB's. :D

Fact, Seattle Seahawk fans are the most insecure football fans on the planet and that is saying a lot. They are one of the few fan bases that on a forum will direct threads to what other fans of the opposing team are saying from week to week. I'm not saying listing the forums of other teams but direct links to anything said about them. They are in a constant state of self assurance to calm their little insecure quirks. What does this say about them? It says that the very few long time true fans of the team have to put up with a large bandwagon fan base which is usually marked by insecurity... have fun reading this Seahawk fans and posting it because I am sure your energy is spent reading other teams' forum looking for justification than your own forum lol

Hey Seattle - 40yeafan here - yes the same 40yearfan quoted in this article. It's amazing that a few of you can't recognize a humorous remark and get all butt hurt about a tongue-in-cheek comment. You have to realize that Cardinal fans consider the Seahawks our most serious contender which in effect makes them the dreaded enemy. It used to be the Dallas Cowboys, but now it's your team. Nothing wrong with a rivalry which makes the game that much more interesting. If Palmer hadn't got injured this year, we would have won at least one of the games against you and we would have gone into the playoffs in the top spot. The fact that we were on our third string QB in that last game has been lost on some of you. How many games do you think Seattle would have won if they had to use their third string QB?

And no, we do not have animosity towards Seahawk fans. Come and enjoy the Super Bowl. Just don't expect true Cardinal fans to root for your team

But if you’re up for a lively discussion, ask the Arizonan who claims to know how a Super Bowl winner should behave just how many Super Bowl victories the Arizona Cardinals have brought home. (Hint: It rhymes with hero.)"

Gee, who were these guys 2 years ago? At least the Steelers' fans have some pedigree to back up their obnoxious behaviour.

I'd ask them in return if they know who Shaun Alexander is. That will whittle down whether they are new bandwagon or old bandwagon fans. Then ask them who Steve Largent is. That will whittle them down the rest of the way until you are talking to an actual real Seahawk fan. At that point tell him his team is a pile of ass and to get off our lawn. The rest of them can simply be ignored because you can't fix stupid.

I know we love to bash Seattle fans as bandwagon fans but we have plenty of bandwagoners here too. I know that the vast majority of us on this board were fans before the new stadium, but where were the throngs of Cardinals fans in the SDS days?

I'm fine with bandwagon fans though. I know that a lot will fall off with each bump the wagon goes over, but those that can survive the ride will stick around.

PS- I hate to see people from high school who talk about how much they love the Cardinals on Facebook when they were the ones teasing me for wearing a Jake Plummer jersey and Cardinals shirts to school.

please please please stop calling things rivalries when we have barely beaten them the last few years with a 58-0 loss to them in there as well. Just let them have their day...makes us all look like babies who cant lose with dignity

What are you talking about? We have basically split with them the last 9 seasons. We are 11-15 against them since they came over from the AFC West and we changed from NFC East to the NFC West. We are tied at 16-16 overall.

We are one of only 2 teams to beat them in their house over the past 2 seasons.

I'd call it a rivalry.
