I'll never understand the ignore function. What point of being on a message board if you can't take a little criticism or sometimes harsh back and forth? I think that's the fun of it at times.. but to each their own. :)

Meh. I’ve been here too long to want to read certain people who say a lot without saying anything, or a handful of posters who want an argument and don’t care about evidence.

I maybe have a half-dozen people on ignore. I’ll reveal their comments from time to time and never have regretted the choice.

in legal conflicts -- there is this concept of "stipulation"

its the facts each side agrees to agree on, saves endless motions arguing back and forth

so can we stipulate:

1. He is small relative to NFL QB standards
2. He has only one year of college starting experience, not a great thing historically

3. He was incredibly productive that one year -- historically so
4. He brings a skill set that Josh Rosen doesnt have
5. Some NFL draft guides rated him #1, some rated him #15 or lower.
6. He played with high end talent at Oklahoma
7. He won many games at Oklahoma

it just seems most threads devolve into some form of those facts being thrown back and forth.
Lol. You’re so right.

I don’t think it’s about that. I tend to put people on ignore if I think they just drone on and on about the same thing without any different discussion, insight, or information. Or if they’re just total a-holes.

Some posters are horrible and need the ignore button. There have been a few for me. I try not to use it though as it damages the experience if that poster is active in a thread with you.

So true. Then you only see these partial conversations which is awful.

You can establish an "Murray - Only" thread, but no one will respect it.

They'll still leave Murray nuggets throughout this forumn.

I'm all for it, but I don't know how you really enforce it. Would it be "all criticism of Kyler is out the window?" Like, we all have to agree Kyler's the best player in history, and leave it at that?

Or are we going to kick back people who are in the "Kyler's a surefire HOF QB" camp to a contained thread too? I think it's very hard to restrict discussion about our starting QB, one way or the other. It's also really hard for me to just pretend to be ultra positive when this would be me...

Man you really live your life in extremes don't you? There are a lot of people around here that are excited with our new QB, but you would be hard pressed to find anyone that has come out and said straight up that Kyler is going to be a HOF QB. There are a lot of people on here that believe he has that kind of potential, but that is a long ways from actually saying it as a statement of fact.

The extremes are always more noticable than reasonable takes. There are people that do argue that there is no way he fails and he will be the best thing ever. I do not think it is the majority, but it is there. Just like there are people still vehemently hating Murray just because.

We clearly see this very differently. I don't know how else to say it. Sure, maybe no one has said "he's a hall of fame QB," but plenty of people are saying he had the greatest quarterback performance in NCAA history, he's not going to take any big hits because he'll run away from it all, etc.

It's a little hyperbole to counter some of the insane love Murray is getting up to this point.

The bolded is exactly my point. That is my argument except twisted to sound more ridiculous. I have said that he is very good at avoiding big hits and that will limit the amount of big hits that he takes. I have never suggested that he will never get hit hard ever in his entire career. At least use the actual takes that the "Murray lovers" are using.

It's more than 2-1 right now. Unless something dramatic happens the various Murray threads will be closed and one thread will exist
How do you police this?!? Kyler is integral to most conversations. How is the offense going to run? Are the WRs going to succeed? What will our win total be? Will KK’s offense be successful? I mean you can’t expect kyler not to come up in those conversations and it will either be in a positive or negative light which will ignite the debate.

I think you’re biting off more than you can chew with such an edict.

He's a Moderator and can pretty much regulate these threads as he sees fit. That's what they do (and are supposed to do).

That's what you agreed to when you signed up. :notworthy:

Agreed with this. Basically 2 of the three things we have to talk about here (Offense, Defense, W/L Record) all run through Kyler's performance.

I don't particularly see a need to do much moderating on this unless the arguments start to devolve into name calling and posts calling out people's fandom.

The fans are going to tangent into the subjects they feel like talking about the most and for now and maybe for a while that will be Murray.
