Doing your own thing is cool, and I don't think what Dockett did was horrible. He's a free spirit, and I respect that.

The problem is that its a little over the line of what most consider to be "good taste", and they find it offensive.

And if you're trying to get "people" to give you more money, you have to play by their rules to a certain extent. Don't offend them. Don't give them a reason not to like you.

If you want people to give you more money, you have to have a combination of talent and social acceptability. The more you have of one, the less you have to have of the other.

Unfortunately for Dockett, he's not a superstar, and he may have even reached his peak (although I do want to say I think his performance has improved over the last year or two).

So, although this is not something that shocks the conscious, it's definitely a poor business decision. Maybe it will materially affect his contract negotiations, maybe it won't. We'll probably never know, but if he doesn't get paid by the Cardinals, I think it will be reasonable to assume that the video was a contributing factor.

Just one of those life lessons everyone has to learn.

You people are hilarious. Your judgmental nature is more viral than his behavior. You have athletes do underwear commercials and it is fine. It isn't like he showed his junk. It wasn't even poor judgement. He has every right to do this. It is not considered illegal or against NFL policy. The team doesn't care unless they get bad pub and then they say, "We are aware of the situation and have talked to Darnell." This is simply sensational and the NEWS can eff off. Who made them the moral compass of a free society.

GO DD.

Dear Darnell,

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Sincerely,

Brian Cushing

Dude your overreacting. Again.

I gotta book to recommend for your life and NFL enjoyment. Don't sweat the small stuff.

This isn't and won't be a big deal. I'd be surprised if it even draws a fine.

If the Skins H-Back can get away with his nude exposure then The Big Dummy should slide by too.:)

If Darnell would do that for a small grand then Maybe we can get away with a very cheap contract for DD.:) I'm just afraid he might get the dreaded "Double Dog Dare" and who knows what we'll end up with.:D

He isn't hurting someone, so how can anyone have a problem with this? He may be immature, but it sounds like he's just enjoying his life, which is all you can ask for.

Tell that to goodell who has a very clear NFL CONDUCT policy that Im sure that antics like that doesn't fit into. I doubt he will be suspended but why risk it? Especially over 1000 buck when you make millions?

I agreed with LIAC that it was an ignorant thing to do. But funny as hell at the same time. From a business point of view not good. IF he gets suspended for this of course Ill be pissed, doesnt make it any less funny tho. Didnt mean to jump down your throat either, my bad.

Bro its not really that funny. Mildly amusing maybe but not that funny at all.

Wow, people are going way over the top with this. It is not like he made a porno or taped himself doing something even more disgusting.

He is a goofy dude, I am sure nothing in that video hurt anyone (I haven't watched because I really have no desire to see DD naked).

The calls for trading him or anything else are just WAY out there.

Dockett is fastly becoming just not funny anymore. I used to think so now his twitter is just getting annoying and dumb. Using the old TV term, Dockett has "Jumped the shark".

People go crazy about Lienart in a hot tub with some chicks, but this is OK because its just Dockett being Dockett. Is there a double standard here?

You better believe coaches are going to have a discussion with him if they haven't already, I also wouldn't be surprised that if we did ever give him an extension we just might see the first type of twitter clause in a athletes contract, what that would look like or how strict I don't know but I bet there is some wording in there on it.

Agree.

I'm willing to bet that this would fall outside the guidelines of Goodell's conduct policy. Do you deny that?

It's not exactly what I had in mind when I was hoping for more national exposure for the Cardinals.

Was anything he did illegal??

If not then Roger the fun police really cant do anything. Every other player that has been suspended broke a law.

You do not have to break ANY laws or do anything illegal to be suspended or fined under the league's conduct policy. You are sorely misinformed!

Who has been suspended for not breaking the law, and what actions led up to the suspension.

Technically, big Ben didn't break any laws. Atleast according to the State of Georgia.

Just because they decided not to press charges doesnt mean he didnt break any laws.

You don't have to break any laws. It was spelled out on NFL network rather clear during the Roethlisberger case. If the Commissioner doesn't feel that your actions reflect the image the NFL wants put out there you can be disciplined.

The police is pretty new overall. But a crime is not necessary to be disciplined. Doesnt matter if you like it or not. That's just how it is.

Can we all atleast agree to take a wait and see approach on this. For all we know nothing is going to happen.

All of Goodell's suspensions have stemmed from some sort of police involment. Dockett is not going to be suspended.

Oh I TOTALLY agree. I'm just on the side that thinks what he did was incredibly stupid. No matter if anything happens or not. The power for it to happen is there for the commissioner if he decides to use it. Dockett needs to think about those things. For a mere 1000 dollars it is damn near idiotic IMO.

Shane dont get me wrong, I do agree that this was in bad taste. Doesnt I mean I dont have bad taste in finding it funny either.

Does it really surprise you that Nine-0 did this tho?

I agree to wait and see.

Just a side note, I wasn't in any way defending Big Ben. Just saying that the Commish is god of the NFL and if he feels somene is violating the conduct policy he can fine whomever he wants.

We'll see, for all we know Goddell liked what he saw?

Maybe him and Dockett will get together and recreate this duet:

dangit what's the script to put the video in the post? I always forget.
