Crimson Warrior
Dangerous Murray Zealot
Doing your own thing is cool, and I don't think what Dockett did was horrible. He's a free spirit, and I respect that.
The problem is that its a little over the line of what most consider to be "good taste", and they find it offensive.
And if you're trying to get "people" to give you more money, you have to play by their rules to a certain extent. Don't offend them. Don't give them a reason not to like you.
If you want people to give you more money, you have to have a combination of talent and social acceptability. The more you have of one, the less you have to have of the other.
Unfortunately for Dockett, he's not a superstar, and he may have even reached his peak (although I do want to say I think his performance has improved over the last year or two).
So, although this is not something that shocks the conscious, it's definitely a poor business decision. Maybe it will materially affect his contract negotiations, maybe it won't. We'll probably never know, but if he doesn't get paid by the Cardinals, I think it will be reasonable to assume that the video was a contributing factor.
Just one of those life lessons everyone has to learn.
