It started as nothing but has turned into DD getting suspended, not extended and being amoral.

I figured something like that was going on just by the sheer volume of posts going up in a short time frame.. This board gets out of control sometimes when it really isnt called for.. Didnt wanna read any of it, just skipped to the end to ask my question.. Thanks for answering by the way..

Speaking as one of the ladies on the board...

I had actually clicked on DD's Twitter (which, considering the topic of this thread, is a phrase that is making me laugh hysterically) about 20 minutes after the dastardly deed had been done. The video had already been taken down but there were several comments posted by various women (I'm assuming) who were very positive in their responses to him. LOL.

I almost asked on his Twitter thread on this board if anyone had seen it. Then I forgot all about it until the 10 o'clock news when it was the lead story.

So, (because once a journalist, always a journalist) I decided to investigate the matter futher and Googled "Darnell Dockett Shower". Couldn't find the video. Just a few stills with the items in question blocked out. White box. Red box. Think someone had a yellow box.

Most shots had him holding a towel. I investigated further. One shot was bordering on REALLY questionable (couldn't tell if he was pulling his shorts up or down) when my McAfee filter kicked in and informed me that it was blocking me from a virus which freaked me out so I gave up being Woodward and Bernstein.

Darnell has a lot of tattoos. None of Oprah. And he needs a hobby. Or a manager to follow him around saying, "Darnell. This is really not a very good idea" and distract him by offering to take him to Lo Lo's for some red velvet cake.

Not even going to try to decipher this mess of an argument. Where have you stated a factual argument based on a factual conduct policy infraction? Where is it stated that this is an infraction? I own a HOOTERS, what do you expect.

It is A honest mistake, no problem.

I am not sure if you know how to multi-quote but for a guy who looks like he loves to wiki, maybe you should do that instead of writing over my post. It makes it cleaner to read.
I know, the Renaissance was exiting the medieval age of absolutism and mores based on a hypocritical and oppressive ideology and attempting to usher in humanism. We live in a free society and I will push for freedom to be expressed and appreciated whether you like it or not.

Wow, pretty good but not impressed. I hope it made you feel better paraphrasing something you've read on the net. And since you seem to think I naively wrote "internets", I suggest you google it, it was put there on purpose. lol

And did you really need to define what the renaissance period was about? This isn't a test here and has very little to do with the topic. I am sure someone here will read and say, hey, that guy knows his stuff...Or maybe, just maybe, they will just say you are trying to hard. :mulli:

We simply have differing viewpoints. Both are engaged in our own subjective interpretation of what moral codes we wish to accept. No problem, I appreciate your right to disagree with me. Read some Kant and Locke, great for understanding how to create a logical argument.

Actually, no. Like I said, what I or you think isn't the point but rather how Goodell views it. Our opinions aren't relevant here and when I say he might get suspended or reprimanded as a result of his immature act, I am basing this off of what Goodell has done, what has happened this off-season, and what I think might happen based on Goodell's PREVIOUS actions.

P.S. I don't own a HOOTERS...I am an artist and I study the nude extensively and find it to be quite beautiful. No, I don't want to have *** with the models but I do appreciate what it is. By the way, if you were aware of contemporary art you would realize that our contemporary scene is much more vulgar than the DAVID or the Farnese marbles or what DD did.

I don't know you, don't care to, and explaining your life story is pretty irrelevant here. I wonder if your need to correct, display what you've read or heard is a thing you like to do for the sake of listening to yourself but I don't see how this plays into the topic. Glad you are well versed in your field but c'mon, why are you dropping specifics like that when the topic isn't about art? It just makes you look like a needy person imposing what you know into a topic that has nothing to do with art. OK, proud you can manage to give an unsolicited irrelevant history lesson into a sports thread. And love the way you brought the Statue of David into this so you have a lead into your next "intelligent" and what could be perceived as an already made response. Hey, if you can fit a square peg into a round hole, go for it but it's pretty clear why you are doing this.

If DD gets suspended...I will write Goodell a letter and voice my disapproval. Nothing else I can do.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CARDSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

"If consequences dictate my course of action..Someone told me once that there's a right and wrong.
Punishment was cure for those who dare cross the line." I don't appreciate oppression.

Oppression? really? Couldn't you find a better suited quote to drop?

Are you insinuating that DD is being oppressed...Or you?

Little, can I call you little? Little, a body is a work of art...no doubt. But it's what you do with it and the manner that you do it in that separates art from vulgarity. If you know art, then you know the difference.

I am really sold on the fact that your purpose isn't to have a civil discourse with someone, you purpose is to pick the most superficial things out of what someone posts and then use that to interject what little you know as a means to sound intelligent. I'm ok with that...I run across people like you all the time. I used to work in the entertainment industry.

When a person is relegated to correcting ones grammar instead of answering a serious question, that usually means they can't answer it and have to deflect from the conversation. I can live with that too. But when that person goes a step further and starts to regurgitate what they've read in a book and try and use that to fit into a conversation that isn't about art just so he can hear himself sound intelligent, that person is looking for validation or just needs to fill an empty void. That's alright, too. People have needs and if I am your flatform to do it in, I'll oblige.

You win, you managed to prove that you can parrot what you've learned but books smarts does not equate to common sense. Congrats, now go on to the next person you want to impress. lol

Now you can correct my grammar and fill that void that compels you to act this way. Do you know anything aside from art that you plug into this conversation just so we can change this up a bit?:D

I really think this message board is the only place still talking about this. Non-issue.

Joe-

Actually, you proposed no facts...simply conjecture. You are the one claiming to know the difference between art and vulgarity...not me.

Yes, I love history and believed it was relevant for my argument. Glad to see that you disagree.

This has turned personal because at one point I said that SOME people need to use critical thinking and you took it personal.

I have a masters degree in art...no ego...just fact. I didn't need wiki to discuss basic intro to art/historical facts.

I only corrected your grammar because it is the quickest way to get someone prone to emotionalism stirred up. Sorry it worked.

This whole thread is funny and I was able to have a masked moral debate in a CARDS forum. Fun stuff.

Take care Joe.

GOOOOOOOOOO CARDSSSSSSSSSSSSS

P.S. Is the body a work of art? Just asking.

Oh yeah, the fun part is that you won't quit until you think you win...unfortunately for you, your logic is lacking and you will be continually dismantled. You use way to many hasty generalizations which render your arguments fallacious. This is fun and I am bored.

Hey, if your kick is to stir things up, and if you are easily bothered by one questioning (out of curiosity) who you were addressing, more power to ya.

It was a simple question. And if that bothered you enough to make this a pissing match, then maybe next time, when you throw out a blanket statement like that, be clear about who you are addressing. Remarks like that without specifying who you were talking about is cowardly, pompous, and arrogant.

At least you manned up about your part in this. I can respect that but I still stand by everything I've said. It was desperate, it was attention seeking, and very childish. Sad to know a person with a masters degree can get educated but isn't guaranteed civility, manners, or respect for people's opinions. Must be sad to be you to trump your education like that, eh?
For a guy to come on a sports message board to strut his education and implement his field of eduction into a conversation about indecent exposure as a prank is reaching in the purest sense. I guess people do strange things to get attention. A humble, well educated person doesn't need to do that, not if they have a positive sense of themselves. The guys that do, have a inferior complex that needs to remind himself and others of his past accomplishments.

Anyway, I am through with this. I've made my point.

LOL...man, you are like a little fly that won't stop buzzing. There were three or four people saying that this was a problem and the arguments did not follow logically.

I never claimed to be intelligent. I know people that put me to shame. Maybe you have some insecurities to deal with?

I use to react like you are. I stopped posting for months and just read. I realized that there are hundreds of opinions and many are not based in fact and some people take their own opinions to seriously...just simple conjecture. I never said a thing to you directly until you piped up about my opinion that some here are illogical. I don't know if it was you or not.

I will man up now and tell you...JOE...wiki when to use a or an! It is obvious that you didn't learn that in school when they were making you use those lofty, arrogant and pompous learning books. Your attacks have become personal and are so weak that your imbecility is shining through your weak and illogical arguments.

Hey little, wiki how to us TOO properly and know when to use TO.

:p

Don't spit up in the air, it'll come right back and hit you square in the face.

"I realized that there are hundreds of opinions and many are not based in fact and some people take their own opinions to seriously"

What a farce!

looks like someone needs to clean house...

And I guess with all that edumacation you received, they failed you by not teaching you the difference between TOO & TO.

That is funny. I have never been good at to and too. I had a teacher that told me to only use too when I meant also or when things were excessive. If I wasn't sure, i should use to. See Joe, i'm not mad or defensive. Just honest.

Meh, I didn't think so. It was actually kinda sad with a morsel of irony. Looks like things have come full circle...And I don't feel redemption. I hate the fact that this had to go as far as it did. Oh well...

Actually, not true. I don't get offended by minor mistakes. It is the fact that people were claiming that DD did something wrong. I still say he didn't. I still believe that some people went way overboard comparing this to rape, drugs, or steroids. They used irrational and fallacious logic. I appreciate the passion but not the logic.

Maybe you don't get offended but when you point out grammatical mistakes of others as a means to flame them and then proceed to make some of your own, you become a become a joke...simple as that. When you belittle someone by telling them they didn't learn something in school and then proceed to make the exact same mistake with the different word...on the same post, you then lose all credibility and get a dose of your own medicine.
Humility in it's purest form.

You are correct. You are through as this is the first banning I am issuing on this topic. Lets see if anyone else decided to make this a personal debate.

Looking at the entire thread, there were times when this got personal beyond just Joe L, even though he took it the furthest.

I have unbanned Joe L. The next person to make this a personal debate instead of a discussion is getting a week off.

No...if he gets suspended for this I will be pissed; we need him the first couple of weeks. Goddell has zero tolerance for players who embarrass the league and this certainly qualifies... It is funny on one hand and completely stupid in a professional manner on the other. Imagine what our employers would do if we showered live on the Internet.

My employer would laugh his butt off & hand me a dollar.
