It's just business. The fans always seem to take this stuff more personally than the player and the team.

I would have been fine with it if he would have kept his mouth shut. Don't talk about loyalty and how important it is for you, only to go to a division rival. How much crap has he talked about SF in the past?

#azcardinals decision-makers aren't crying over Dockett loss. Otherwise, would have offered him more, or countered 49ers offer

he has also gushed about the 9ers management and fans in the past too.

I'm not mad at him. We released him, he was free to sign with another team. He took the best offer given to him. I wish him well. Same with Williams. If you give a player your blessing to test the market and another team comes in and overbids you and that player signs, don't be mad when that player takes the better deal. DD had a great run here for 10 seasons(11 years). I won't be rooting for him but wouldn't boo him either. Good luck DD.

somers says the Cards FO isn't upset, so I don't know why I should be. We all heard him say the same things. It's just business.

My Dockett jersey is going on the garbage. I love him for what he did let's be honest he's well past his prime.

He painted himself in this corner with his mouth loyalty and love this and that turns out to be full of it

The guy that got injured and was on the cards sidelines for every game, bleed cards red for 12 years and is now dead to some of you because another team wanted him more then the cards? He even gave them the chance to match and still they didn't. I don't hate him for that. Yea he talked crap about Dansby chasing the money but anyone would want more money when it's offered up. Everyone would.

Good teams know when to rid of an aging, deteriorating player. Good teams also don't make decisions based on pure emotion.

Shaggy, you shouldn't be surprised.

There is not a single player who ever left the Cards and signed with another team that did not get slagged on by a bunch of the fans. No matter how popular they were before.

The difference between Dansby and Dockett is that Dansby's contract expired and he, twice, went after the money. Dockett was still under contract and was cut. If there's a side showing a lack of loyalty it's the Cards organization, not DD.

It's better to trade/release a player a year early, rather than a year late.

We did the right thing. So did Dockett. Thanks for some great years DD and best of luck in the future but only during the offseason.

Especially when he gave the Cards a chance to match.

He's a former Cardinal and now a 49er.

Regardless of whether he gave the team the right to match, he plays for the enemy, so he is the enemy.

Glad this drama is over and we can move on to the next player that will take his spot. Didn't miss him last year and won't miss him this upcoming year! Even though, I would have loved to have him back.
