I wouldn't trade a first rounder for Kolb. I think the potential value lost is just too great, especially if Luck is at all a possibility. Also, and I realize how simplistic this will sound, but I don't see why the Cards should have to trade a first round pick for a player another team drafted in the second, who's played in only a handful of games. Kolb may be a great QB, but the sell-job the Eagles have managed to do so far has been amazing.

On Fox 10's Sports Night, Jude LaCava was talking to Mike Jurecki about possible options at QB. He of course talked about Bulger as a strong possibility, but also mentioned to get Kolb the Cards would have to give up a 1st and a starter and specifically mentioned DRC by name. He made no mention of any other possibilities. I checked Jurecki's twitter, but he hasn't tweeted anything about it.

It appears that we may have several contingency plans for QB. My guess is that they may look something like this in order of preference:

1. DRC + 1st/2nd for Kolb
2. Beanie/THT + possible pick for Palmer
3. Sign Hasselbeck
4. Sign Bulger

If Philly doesn't play ball then we move down the list.

DRC and a 1st for Kolb makes me want to throw up every time I see it. This is the most crazy proposal I have ever read.

How would you feel if Seattle landed Kolb and then jettisoned Hasselbeck (whom we'd then sign)?

Also - what do any of you guys know about NE QB Brian Hoyer - said to be highly regarded but below the proverbial radar screen?
If it's Hasslebeck, I gotta get psyched for him being a Cardinal and lay off the David Hassellhoff jokes I post in the Chickens forum. :p (he showed he still has some juice in the tank)

I would be shocked if we picked up Hoyer, than I would go Google the crap out of him.

But if the chickens get Kolb... SF already scored Harbaugh and Kaep and the Rams have their young stud, I would be worried.

I agree. Were talking about an unproven guy in Kolb. I offer no higher than a second with maybe a third of fourth thrown in.

Thats all would offer for any of the available QB's.

With DRC PP& and Toler we have a strength at CB leave it alone.

Flash back to last year and who we trotted out there as the starting QB(s). We NEED to upgrade the QB position. If that requires a 1st rd pick + for Kolb then DO IT. I for one would prefer Bulger that will only take money to get the deal done but I'm in the minority.

Dilfer and Tim Hassleback have both said Matt won't return to the Seahawks. If the bidding war for Kolb gets too high then Hassleback (even with his whiny personality) or Bulger have to be signed. I doubt the Bengals trade Palmer.

I fully agree that we keep our CB group, this could be a very strong to elite unit. DRC has gained 8lbs in muscle and has vowed that he will tackle and get involved with stopping the run. Hopefully Horton has made an impression on him and DRC is a man of his word.
