OMG, why is this so difficult to understand? I don't care if he runs over people in the restricted area. He is ok as long as he doesn't gore defenders standing outside the restricted area. If Thomas was in the restricted area, I wouldn't care if Amare took his head off.

He could have held the ball, he could have taken a jumper, he could have passed it outside for a 3 point shot, he could have dropped the ball to Shaq for an easy dunk. But no, he had to gore a stationary defender.

I am sorry, but Amare Stoudemire lost the game for the Suns, and that's all there is to it.

There were only a couple seconds left on the shot clock. He had only 3 options and one of those was to pass it to Shaq who most likely would have been fouled. Amare thought he could get to the spot before Thomas got there and he failed at that. End of story.

Thomas was there before Amare did anything. Also, if I remember corectly, there was more than 10 secs left on the shot chock. Giving the basketball to Shaq 3 feet away from the basket is better than goring a stationary defender to get your 6th foul.

No, Thomas was not there before Amare did anything. He just got to the spot before Amare. Like I said in the other thread, its clear you didnt watch the game. I'm not trying to let AMare off the hook but lets not make up **** please.

To assume that one event, acting alone, caused a second event is the definition of a poor argument.

I am very okay with looking to deal Amare at the end of the season, his stock will never be higher. I also would like to see him flourish under a different staff.

Um. no. Why not get rid of D'Antoni first and see if Amare responds differently under coach who actually holds him accountable for defense and offense.

If pop was amare's coach from his entry into the league his defense and rebounding would assuredly be better.

Yes he was there. Shaq was behind him, on his right hand side. I am not making anything up, and yes, you ARE trying to let Amare off the hook. You are claiming that Thomas simply made a great play, thus it was not Amare's fault.

Thomas was basically already there before amare even made a move to the basket, it was amare making a bad playing crashing into him not thomas making a great or even good play.

That's what I am trying to say, but according to Bayless2Budinger, neither one of us watched the game, lol

That's what I'm hoping for, I think after being down 3-1, the Spurs will definitely fall under pressure in Game 5. If not, we'll finish them off at home in game 6.

I second that!

Spurs got a lot of luck while playing really smart and we played a lot of stupid mistakes down the stretch. Amare seemed to be tired with many fumbles late in the game and the big off. foul on Kurt. Nash was also dribbling way too long for a 24 sec. violation with 27 some seconds left in the regulation.

We just need to be smarter. Suns in 5!

Pathetic and stupid thread. Anybody who blames this on Amare wasn't watching the same game I was. Amare has played like he has played all year. His same play has even garnered wins against the Spurs. Yes he had some costly mistakes at the end but I can point to more things that D'Antoni did then Amare.

90% of the posts on this board after the game today have just come out as over-emotional drivel. Trade Stoudemire? Yeah, that sounds like a great move guys. We don't need to ditch our moron coach, we don't need to trade our soft ass frenchie, we don't need to pick up a back up point guard because our offense sure looks great when Nash is out, we just need to trade Amare and we'll be FINE! Good Lord.

What would a Suns loss be without a thread blaming solely Amare for everything? I think earth might spontaneously explode.

like what? An offensive beast who can't be stopped by anyone but himself who doesn't rebound well, picks up incredibly stupid fouls and make costly decisions/plays at the end of games? Steel, the guy deserves criticism after this game. Not EVERYTHING is about offense. Just look at his PF on the other side who hit every big shot and rebounded like a mother.

I put the trade out there for 2 reasons.

1. Some Suns fans on this board (generalizing) don't like Amare, they like players like Barbosa, guys with funny sound effects and wacky Tom Leander nicknames. So by all means I would love to see Amare tear it up somewhere else and the Suns can wallow in mediocrity with players like Leandro and Diaw. Of course I would hate the suns losing but telling everyone to eat a big shitburger while Amare is tearing it up in LA might be worth it. Not sure yet.

2. I am a fan of the NBA and the Suns are my team because I grew up and live here But I can only be so selfish, after this season I think the Suns take the biggest step down, the entire west can't be awesome forever and we are old. $arver will only go so far and I personally think it would be a waste to pit Amare in the middle of the inevitable rebuilding that is going to happen post 08-09. Amare's value is tremendous, he may require additional work on the knee in the next 3-5, and I want him to play for a team that will be at a high level, suns fans always want to trade guys when they are at their lowest value, I differ, trade em while they are high.

Now that Shawn is gone I guess Amare is the next whipping boy. :whip:

I revise my earlier statement. This thread is beyond pathetic.

and the point of this thread wasn't to blame Amare for everything. It was just me coming to the realization that the people who say he's got a low basketball IQ are right. Today was the last straw for me. I hope he starts proving us wrong.

I understand the "shitburger" sentiment (rofl), but trading him would be a disaster. Seriously, do you look at Minnesota and say "Wow, they're going to be a great team!" God no. They got one nice player (who makes Amare look like KG on the defensive end, FWIW) and a bunch of huge freaking scrubs and late first round draft picks. That franchise is going to be at the bottom for years and years, with how talented the West is (with YOUNG players, too).

I'd rather just keep him, have him play here in his prime and hope we can surround him with defensive minded players, another smart point guard, and shooters after our old dudes are gone. Cause to be honest, you're not going to have to give Amare much help to have a very good offensive team when he's in his prime. Defense, unless he gets under a coaching staff that could help him make strides, is a different story. But a better defensive coaching staff isn't that much of a stretch is it? I mean, George Karl could teach Amare to be a better defender than he is.

Then again, Minnesota's youth movement does look pretty promising:
