Now that Shawn is gone I guess Amare is the next whipping boy. :whip:

I revise my earlier statement. This thread is beyond pathetic.

Amare played a good offensive game (minus getting his shot blocked 4 times and 6 turnovers).

He played a bad defensive game.

He played a pathetic rebounding game. 3 defensive rebounds in 45 minutes of play? That's indefensible. Freaking Nash had more defensive rebounds.

It is what it is. I wouldn't want to get rid of Amare but I wish he put 1/4 of the effort on rebounding and defense as he does on offense.

Yup, I always thought it was a stupid nickname, but man does that guy wear it well. Stupid needless fouls trying to poke the ball away running back on D, missing fourth quarter free throws, playing NO ONE at the end of the game and giving Finley a wide open shot and then without a doubt, the dumbest play of the game, instead of just turning and shooting an 8 footer, he charges into KT.

I said before the series we only go as far as Amare takes us and his stupid ass (and DA's horrific late game coaching) KILLED us today. You better hang your head in shame Duh'mare because you should eb ashamed of yourself. You're not a Superstar, you're a superTARD until you prove otherwise.

that was disgusting.

this series is over in 5.

Did you notice just how many shots inside 5 feet of the basket Amare missed today too? It was sickening.

And yes there was a dozen plays in the second half that cost the Suns the win but you also need to give credit to the Spurs for playing a great game at the end.

"As soon as I caught the ball, I went to attack and didn't see Kurt at all.
By the time I saw him, he was already on the ground. I think it was a great call by the official. It happens like that sometimes.

This is exactly what I am talking about- he went to attack without looking and didn't see the guy he ran over. This is exactly what I ment when I said he gored Kurt like an angry rhino.

Why would you attack without looking right in front of you, especially when you have the lead and 12 secs on the shot clock? How do you not see somebody until you gore them? He was standing right in front of him. What the hell was he looking at? Did he have his eyes closed?

ARGH!!!!!!!!:bang:

It's not effort, he is bad, I really think a real coach would make Amare a good rebounder. Seriously, our staff consists of a greeseball, a below average former sun who's most famous for doing coke, someone who used to flick goobers at the head coach, and Alvin Gentry. It's time $arver makes the investment and brings in someone to work with amare.

come on man, I don't care how bad the coaching is. You can't just stand there watching as Finley coming wide open, especially since in the huddle the instruction was to switch. That's was pathetic.

Especially when you don't have to worry about your man. They can have 2 points, just can't have 3. Yet he decided to stand there and watch Finley shoot a 3. :bang:

I am not talking about that play, I am talking overall, amare doesn't suck at rebounding because he doesn't try, he is inconsistent because he is all over the place on defense. And I think so because he has poor coaching. You can almost smell Jeff Van Gundy's breath salivating over coaching Amare.

And Barbosa? oh wait meep meep "laughs!" it's all good!

i really don't get why you keep playing this card. Barbs gets his share of crap also. He's just as big of a target because a) he's not our best player and b) he doesn't have the mouth that Amare does. Amare does A LOT of talking. When you talk as much as he does, you make yourself a target, especially when you make mistakes like he has.

He is a poor rebounder because he refuses to block out. When shot goes up, what does he do? Does he block out? NO! He looks up and lifts his hands up in the air. That has nothing to do with coaching. It has to do with lack of effort.

A. IT WAS BARBOSA'S MAN.

B. Is irrelevant. Barbosa is a bad interview he can barely speak english, no one wants to get his quote.

I know it was Barbs' man but I know and you know that by this point in the season, no one expects anything out of Barbosa and we're looking for our best player to actually BE THE BEST PLAYER ON THE COURT. That's how series are usually decided, especially when they're this close.

yes, Barbs can't guard anyone - doesn't change the fact that it was idiotic for Amare not to guard anyone either.

If you don't like it, don't read it. Some of us want to discuss what happened today instead of burying our heads in the sand and saying "Oh, everything is just fine."

you know instead of just throwing this stuff out, why not actually discuss what you disagree with in the thread or just not visit the thread at all? are you I mean, you're intentionally reading something you deem beneath you. Why waste your own time doing that?

Amare isn't some rookie. How about you hold all players to the same standard. Yeah Barbosa is a mediocre player. We all know he is a bench guy. Barbosa also had 8 defensive rebounds

agreed. both of those guys are problems for different reasons. And not problems as in "they suck and we suck because of it" but problems as in "those guys problems keep us from achieving greatness".

BTW the biggest goat of the game has to be Brian Skinner.

2 minutes of action and he played terrible defense, missed 3 free throws, missed a wide open 8 foot baseline jumper, and finished with a team high -6.

Congratulations Brian Skinner. I was actually calling for Sean Marks while you were "playing"

Skinner was horrific. just horrific. that being said, the only reason he was in the game was because Amare was bound to pick up dumb-ass foul number 3 and DA couldn't trust him to stay in there.
