You can't have it both ways. You can't say that Corporations rule the world and also say that public opinion controls what employers do. The fact is Corporations do have much influence but public opinion matters or Corporations wouldn't cave to public pressure sometimes. Plenty of examples of that.

jmho, but the NFL seems to be bowing more to Budweiser than public opinion at the present. I'm not trying to argue the pressure of the public doesn't have an effect, just stating my opinion that its really all about one corporations' influence over another. Budweiser is taking a stance that supposedly enhances their own interests in the long run. If the boys at Bud make some colossal screw up some other powerful money group will vilify them for their interests. It's just my skepticism of the whole mess that any of them will do anything worthwhile.

2 incidents in July. 1 against wife involving a fracture. The other involving an 18 month old infant. Prevented use of phone during emergency. Wife took child out of town immediately. PHX PD have been building a case since then , getting out of state records.

If this is true, then he should be cut yesterday.

I have no doubt the NFL is scared about sponsorship. I guess what I am trying to say is that the public can also hurt the NFL. Just like when MLB had that steroid scandals, ratings were down, attendance was down and merchandise sales were down.

At the end of the day I think both Corporations and Public opinion can influence because both carry a lot of monetary weight. In fact, many sponsors often pull their ads in theses scenarios not because of some moral high ground but because they are scared that there customers will in fact turn on them or fans have threatened to boycott their products.

One of the articles I'd read about the sponsors was that they were acting because of public opinion and people complaining, directly to them, rather than to the NFL. In my opinion it takes both: the NFL won't do anything simply because people complain, but they will if people complain to the companies lining their pockets.

And where is the commissioner? What a gutless turd. Hasn't been seen or heard from in over a week. No direction to the teams or the league or union. Zero. He's a terrible commissioner and I hope he resigns. He should be leading on this issue, it's part of his damn job.

This has to be the greatest threat to the NFL ever. I even saw an article questioning whether concussions lead to player violence. Once they link all these things together it's a slow decline to irrelevance.

Am I to extrapolate from this comment that the computer you are using is one that you made yourself from components that you made yourself?

My other brother Darryl built this here contraption.

Not that I'm not disgusted by all this but when Nike is complaining about domestic violence while happily selling shoes that are the product of slave labor by 9 year olds in a foreign country I have a hard time taking their complaints seriously.

Besides a fracture to the mother, "one count of aggravated assault involving a minor, ........ an 18-month-old child, police said."

We really need to pick up Ray Rice whenever he becomes available. I am serious too. He screwed up, but seems sorry and is probably reformable. He will be given, and deserves like everyone, a second chance. Why shouldn't we be the ones to benefit from giving him that. Just saying that if he is going to play for someone in the NFL, why not let it be us.

What's next, assault and battery on fetuses by the NFL tough guys. Our whole system of rewarding and coddling athletes from high school on is in question in my opinion. Something has gone terribly wrong with these young adult football players. Emotionally and mentally they are damaged goods and not working properly by any society's standards.

I bet plenty of police, judges, lawyers, news casters etc. are loving the 15 minutes of fame they get pushing these issues to the public.

Yeah, all those bastards are making serious bank. None of them really want to help victims.

If guilty, I NEED the cardinals, the team that we all love to handle this the right way. Please Mike B set the standard for how to deal with theses pieces of crap. There is no excuse for putting your hands on Someone whether you are a man woman, black white, gay straight. You can walk away, get help, talk it out....

You must be smoking with Dweed. :D

Rice is done in this league, bet that! Teams would want zero part of the criticism & heat they would take from their fans, sponsors & media. Plus, once a player is out of the league a few years, he's generally done.

Like Ravens fans in Baltimore, will the Cardinals fans who are women wear Dwyer jerseys on Sunday?

Why would the popo want and get a search warrant for his house, and if this happened in July, why wasn't he arrested before the season started? I aint down with beating the ladies, but I wish we'd known he is way before we started the year out.

Do people even have Dwyer jerseys? It's not like he was one of the more popular players anyway.

He's quite expendable....cut him and move on.
