Channel 12 had the Phoenix police department press conference live. Someone on the PD was reading a statement about what happened and just as he got to that nugget Channel 12 went back to the studio.

:pullhair:

Aaaand we just made NBC nightly news.

Is Dwyer really that much better than Hughes? Can't Hughes just take his snaps?

I'm not commenting on the DV aspect of it...I've stayed out of all that so far, I'm just trying to look at this from a football only stance. I'm not in any way trying to minimize the DV side of it. I choose not to comment on that because I believe in letting the process work itself out.

Oooooh forgot about that.

That's it cut him!!!!!!! What a disgrace, next man up

Was he ever arrested or charged? I thought it was dropped because there was no evidence of what she said. It's been a long while so I don't recall all the details. Though it definitely raises an eyebrow sounds like a different scenario from someone arrested, brought up on formal charges or admittingly beat his kid until he bled.

Are there some negative aspect to public opinion? OK, I will give you that but you should be thanking public opinion not condemning it. That's not to say public opinion is always right. However, it sure as hell keeps corporations, business and now sports franchises in check.

Keeping corporations in check????? That's hysterical. Corporations rule the world.

Never heard the end and it is not in print. I thought it was a false accusation, but can't find proof anywhere.

A warning against witch hunts though, for sure.

You can't have it both ways. You can't say that Corporations rule the world and also say that public opinion controls what employers do as a previous poster did. The fact is Corporations do have much influence but public opinion matters or Corporations wouldn't cave to public pressure sometimes. Plenty of examples of that.

I bet plenty of police, judges, lawyers, news casters etc. are loving the 15 minutes of fame they get pushing these issues to the public.
