rather be early than late.
Very nice glad we got Doucet signed and in camp on time, maybe he only signed a 3 year deal to try and save the cardinals some money so we can resign dansby .
Only a 3 year deal, wonder why?
Dansby’s plight is not unusual. Of the 12 players given a franchise tag by teams this off-season, seven apparently will be playing under one-year deals having not signed extensions by Tuesday’s deadline.
Of the five that did sign extensions, two – defensive linemen Jared Allen and Corey Williams – were traded before receiving multi-year contracts.
Glad it got done fast. Welcome to the NFL Early Doucet.
The most interesting part of that report by Urban was this:
So only 3 of 12 franchised players in the NFL signed new contracts with their teams. Very interesting. Seems some retrenchment by owners may be occurring. Good.
There goes the predicament of a holdout where Early is Late to camp.
I'm going to enjoy watching how he performs. I can't expect much, but quietly I guess I have high hopes for him.
If Breaston can progress like he may be able to, our WR core depth will be sick.
Our potential 5th, and 6th receivers might even be relatively pretty good.
And now there is 2. Get it done!
Does anyone suspect a wee little bit, deep down where it's not even a real worry yet, that the drafting of Doucette (sp?) may be in anticipation of not being able to re-sign Boldin?
Bah, I won't buy into it. Good job getting him signed now. Let's get the ball rolling on the rest.
The Cards were second in the league of times they came out in a 4WR set. We'll probably see plenty of Doucet and Breaston on the field at the same time.
And 75% of those one year tender guys are not going to get a deal the likes of the ones their original teams were originally offering. For various reasons, over inflated value of oneself, injuries, not playing as well, other possible FA hitting the open market, draft conditions(especially LB's considering the 2009 draft is going to be choke full of LB talent and teams have shown in the past to not pay a lot on LB's and gamble on a rookies instead), and so on.
Mama let that boy play some rock and roll, jazz is much too crazy, he can play it when he's old.....he's too young for the blues, he's still inside his first pair of shoes.....(he's so young)
Can anyone name this one hit wonder band?
As much as I hate to say it, I think it's a real possibility. And it really bothers me. Boldin is my fave player on the team, me and my two sons wear his jersey. Still, it may be tough to keep him...
