A lot of them actually. So it is not a stupid line of reasoning in fact it is a very good one.

Agents have a ton of players to handle that will be FA's and Rookies coming into the league doing pro days. They cant be with all of their clients at every interview. Most contracts proposals with a a player are faxed to the agent or via confrence calls, not face to face.

then the fact that his agent is accompanying him makes no difference whatsoever, doesn't it? rosenhaus is just going to have a nice weekend in sunny phx.

An agent only shows up to an interview if there is serious negotiating to be going on. Other wise marquee player or not it is a waste of time.

Trust me agents dont show up to these things unless it is the real deal with all of the other players they handle he couldnt be at all of Edge interviews without ignoring all of his other players so he will only show up to the real deal ones.

you're actually wrong about this one. the agents babysit their big-money-babies routinely in visits like these. it's high-profile and usually camera-worthy.

and if he can do the other things and receive calls/faxes from the cards, why can't he tend to other client's deals with calls/faxes while he's in phx. your logic is really faulty.

there's something to be said for that color called gray in the middle of black and white. you needn't be an idiot, but that doesn't mean you have to be delusional.

With our salary cap and our core set of players, adding someone like Edge and key O linemen then you wouldn't be delusional in thinking we could win a championship.

Not delusional at all, in fact I think that's the goal.

You need some outside the box training, you're thinking like a beat down Cardinal fan.

One day the planets should align in our favor, no injuries, our moves work out for a change, etc.

I think anyone comming into that new stadium could believe that's possible, Boldin and Fitz do.

Call it faulty all you want. It isnt even logic it is a fact. I know for a fact how the agents work and how they do business, how contracts are done. I know the inner workings of this process from the people that do it, not by sitting in the stands and arm chair QBing. You dont want to believe it, no skin off of my back.

For example, Drew did Boldins contract. The only time he met face to face with the team was when it was at a NFL function where all NLF teams were present, such as an owners meeting, combine, proday, offseason workout of his players in Tempe, ect. So he could meet with all the teams or players at one place at one time. The only other time they met at the Cards facility was when things were about to be signed.

A couple of points. Drew shows up to a meeting like this if he has been told that a seriuos offer WILL be made. IT appears we are the first and hopefully last stop for EDGE during this FA period. I'm sure that we will hand hold him as we take him to the new stadium. I expect Green, Graves and Micheal to be there so decisions can be made intantly. IMO when he leaves here we will have a pretty good knowledge of will he wear red this year, I'd say our chances are 50-50.

the proposed delusional comment was "this place [aluding to the stadium] will be full when you're gone" (or something to that effect). as a rational cardinal fan, you must admit that such a blanket statement is delusional. we were never discussing whether or not adding edge and a revamped oline would make us better or a championship level team.

b/c we've been able to sign 50% of the premier fa's that visit every year in hopes of (successfully) driving up their market value to sign with other teams. is that what what you're hanging your percentage on?

sorry, just color me skeptical.

You don't have to wear the Snickers-Wig anymore...or deny that you love the Cardinals so much you just can't let yourself believe again.

The word 'delusional ' is banned for the rest of today.

Please
Today I can see how we are all a bit 'delusional' as we rarely see a FA visit of this magnitude with the Cardinals....makes me wonder if I am dreaming;)

i dont think the cardinals (or at least seriously hope) will bring edge all the way down here for no reason...when a team asks a player to come visit and make sure the agent is with them that means they expect the person to accept the offer and are serious about doing business.... it is not uncommon for a player to be unescorted by his agent...i just hope drew and james are in town to make a deal

after the cba was signed mortenson said on espn that the colts were interested in resigning james. that he would probably go out and establish his value before anything would happen with the colts.
don't know if this has been mentioned or not.

just something to keep in mind

There is always that possibility that James visits and gets an offer and then shops us. I think we all know it takes two to Tango but the Cardinals need to make an offer of SA money and make it hard for anyone to match it.

From whats being reported, he won't be able to do that. The Cards are going to try to negotiate a deal over the weekend. If he leaves, the deal will be pulled.

The Cards seem to be very serious about signing James
