Happy Entourage Returns Day!

We got the Season 3, Part 1 DVD yesterday and caught up. We also realized we had missed the first four episodes of this season, so what was great.

Can't wait for tonight...a new agent should be interesting.

Medellin. :)

No doubt. That was a good episode; nice start to the season.

Is it me, or did Turtle drop a couple lbs?

How long until Vince effs his new agent, literally or figuratively?

Same old Drama.

it was a decent first episode but even though Carla Gugino is just SMOKING HOT, she's no match for Ari - she's got no teeth to really battle with a shark like Ari. Sure, they've kind of set up a possible Vince screwing her as a little more twist to have more complications in Ari's plan to get him back, but she just ain't it and they either didn't write her well enough to be a good enough foil or Carla just can't pull it off.

also, not enough Drama last night. Every moment of his was gold, but I felt he was slighted throughout.

This show just isn't as entertaining as it used to be. Not sure why. Anyone else feel that way?

I recently watched the season 3 DVDs and the first 2 episodes of part 2. It's great to be caught up, this show is a lot of fun to watch.

Drama was hilarious, pretty much everything he says cracks me up. It was nice to see Busy Philipps. I hadn't seen her in anything since Freaks and Geeks.

I agree.

I didnt know she co-wrote Blades of Glory;

Busy Philipps story and
John Altschuler screenplay &
Dave Krinsky screenplay

Craig Cox (story) &
Jeff Cox (story)

Just about anything Drama says is classic. I love that character.

Last night's episode was just OK. The Ari storyline last night was funny as heck. Otherwise, nothing great about it.

Cheese, I think Carla is miscast maybe...thoughts?

totally agree - she is miscast... this show needs to get back to the basics. it's becoming REALLY predictable - I could see this coming between Vince and Amanda from the first scene in the kitchen in episode one. get on with it already - we know Vince is going back to Ari eventually and while I'm glad they didn't have it happen immediately, the reasons he's not aren't compelling enough right now to keep them apart.

also, Ari's greatest speech of all time might have been in session with his wife and the therapist - that was classic - although the end I thought was a little forced.

the other thing that bothers me a little bit is Drama's story - especially working in the industry, I KNOW that he'd be working while waiting for his show to air - they would have ordered at a minimum 6 episodes if the show got picked up after pilot and the fact that he's doing nothing rings hollow to me... but, I work in the biz and know how it goes so I can see how others wouldn't notice that.

Assuming the same writing for the character, what female would have been better casting for the role of Amanda?

As for the Drama thing, I kind of assumed he was still working but it wasn't central to the current storylines but I would also admit I didn't give it much thought. I wonder how much the Drama storyline of his show will get written in or will it be a very minor sidelight to the show.

Some episodes are great, others hohum but I agree that the show seems to be straying a little bit from what made it such a fine show from the start.

my call is Drama's show is DOA and is dropped after two weeks. They've already set it up with Lloyd having never seen the billboard even though he drives up and down Sunset everyday (in other words, the pilot's not on his agent's radar), his light getting extinguished (it's not in the public eye and no one cares about it) and the Hollywood Reporter columnist who works in TV having no clue about his pilot (and, well... you get the picture). Those may seem like slight digs and jokes at Drama's expense, but they're all set ups. His head is wayyyy too big right now and I think the writer's are setting him up for a colassal "dramatic" fall.

also, if his show kept going, seeing how the actual show likes to stay as true to what the biz is like as possible, he'd either have to marginalized (as he'd likely be on set for 15 hours a day as a lead on an hour long) or the show would have to have a lot of "just Drama" scenes and either one of those breaks up the genesis of what makes the show great and that's the four morons all together like a travelling circus.

Drama's show is gonna fail and then Drama's gonna be even better, because he's gonna be surly bitter Drama.

if you notice, none of the show ever takes place while Vince is actually in a movie - it's because it's the least interesting part of life out here, at least to the rest of the world.

So cheese, who do think would have been better cast as Amanda than Carla?

For the life of me I cannot come up with an actress who could pull off the type of character she is but I admit I rarely think of these things unless a character is so obviously miscast.

The show is still good but the edge is gone. The Ari thing last night seemed a bit too forced on the tough guy image. The Drama thing was weak and predictable. The Vince/Amanda thing is terribly awkward and a poor storyline IMO.

I dunno, this season started well I thought and has struggled since.

Yeah. The show has been pretty tame the last few weeks.

this episode was pretty funny. Drama's just ridiculous. Nice twist at the end.

Good episode. One of the funnier ones this season, IMO. I'm kind of getting tired of the whole Medellin thing though.

How many seasons are they going to stretch this thing out? They need to kill the project forever or just do the damn movie!
