playing with his softball team, he missed a catch in the outfied but didnt stumble and bumble around. He has a good personality so I wouldnt be surprised to see him on TV alot more in the future. He reminds me of all of the guys I play softball with, just wants to drink and have a good time.

Well, it's doubtful your softball buddies have a company paying them $10 million a year to drink beer and have a good time. The Diamondback organization gave Eric Byrnes a lot of money to be the face of the franchise and to lead the youth movement they spent years building. Instead Byrnes opted to essentially check out of everything he promised to do which makes him an irresponsible douchebag that no smart organization would ever employ in any capacity.

How many people around the Diamondbacks organization have lost their jobs thanks to Eric Byrnes' immaturity? How many people in and out of the stadium whose livelihood is partially based on the team's success are hurting right now because the Diamondbacks are stuck in neutral somewhat due to Byrnes contract and the negative influence he had on the team? I'm sure they're thrilled that he can putz around with his moron friends and live in his mansion in Half Moon Bay.

Byrnes sucks, end of story. You want to live like a child your whole life? That's perfectly acceptable, just don't screw other people in the process by pretending you're something that you're not to get more money.

Yes, he does.

Here's the thing. Stupid people make stupid decisions and Byrnes is truly a remarkable idiot. He probably already lost a good chunk of that coin on his embarrassing clothing line and I know for a fact he invested poorly from a real estate perspective both here and in the Bay Area.

Over his career (which is over) he's made roughly $40 million dollars in salary and endorsements likely. Take out taxes and agent/manager/etc and that's likely $15 million after all is said and done. Not working, owning a couple multi-million dollar properties, and living excessively blows through that really quickly. Guaranteed he'll be living off his MLB pension before too long.

I'm not the biggest mark grace fan, but I agree with his comments 100% that Byrnes is a clown without the makeup

anyone with a shred of pride would be flat out embarressed to be playing beer league softball while sitting on a $10M contract that was at some point given to someone that kind of looked like a major league ballplayer

it would be like having a special forces guy running security detail at the mall busting on kids for running their skateboards all over the place
