It is up to his agent to find the Suns a destination and value in return for him.
At least that is what I would tell him.

Otherwise see you in October.

This. Let he and his agent see what he is really worth.

He has no internal locus of control. He believes that everything negative that happens to him is somebody elses fault. These types of people seldom change their their way of thinking.

We would all like that, but in today's NBA, that wouldn't fly. At all. The Player's Association would likely take us to court if that happened.

I think they'll have to wait until camp starts. Then if his behavior is detrimental to the team they might have grounds to suspend him.

Actually the Raptors and Rockets have what the Suns need. Maybe Markieff is bringing up these teams because they are likely trade partners. He did say he would play anywhere but the Suns. The Raptors might be the best choice because it gets him out of the Western Conference. However, if the Suns traded with the Rockets I would like to get Montrezl Harrell thrown into the trade.

What are the Rockets gonna do with all these big men? Other than Lawson and Harden, they barely have any guards and wings who can contribute much offensively. If I were Morey, that's what I would work on.

They already have Dwight, Motiejunas, Jones and now Harrell. Bigs shouldn't be a priority for Houston right now.

I don't see any players worth it on either roster.

I suggested earlier in the thread I would consider trading Markieff to the Raptors for for Patrick Paterson, Lucas Nogueira and a first round pick.

If I traded with the Rockets I would want Clint Capela, Monzell Harrell plus whoever the Suns want to make the deal work.

Imagine if we had gotten LMA... Chandler, LMA, Tucker, Knight and Bledsoe with Warren, Len, Booker, Goodwin... Oh well. Let's see what McD can pull out of his hat. Starting next season without the thugs will be nice.

The ironic thing is that it would be a lot easier to swallow if they didn't play so soft.

I like Terrence Jones, he has a history of injuries but is a talented player. If we could get both Jones & Harrell from HOU, I would make the deal.

Rumors I've read:

BOS: Sullinger & Perry Jones for Morris - If Sully can get into shape he could be a beast at the PF spot. He has a nice mid range game but Morris has better range out to the 3pt line. Jones is still only 23 and had a nice college stint down at Baylor.

LA: Young & either Robert Sacre or Ryan Kelly - Wouldn't want any of those guys but if LA is willing to deal Randle I would listen.

Haven't seen any players involved in a HOU deal but Terrence Jones and/or Montrezl Harrell should be the center piece of any deal. TOR doesn't really have anything of an upgrade over Morris other than Valanciunas and TOR ain't dealing him. Patterson is smaller and doesn't give you any more rebounding or defense than Morris at the PF spot, he's more of a SF but we don't need another SF.

They did a NBA2k15 trade and this is what happened... hilarious compared to real life

Valley of the Suns writer Scott Chasen tweeted out a photo of his "My Player" discussing a trade in the locker room with Markieff.

In NBA 2K Markieff Morris just told my player PHX had to make a trade, but it's just business. They traded Marcus lol pic.twitter.com/FWw5BHVFoC
— Scott Chasen (@SChasenKU) August 9, 2015

"It's a business," Markieff said. "I'm new and even I know that. Hey. Maybe the change of scenery will do 'em good."

Unless some team makes a decent offer then I think the Suns are just going to sit on him. The guy has a 4 year deal, if this was a vet (like Goran was) coming up on free agency then, yeah, for better or worse they'd have to take anything they could get. His plan to show up, play but give his teammates, coaches and media the silent treatment would represent a significant upgrade in his behavior from the previous season.

LOL... good way to look at it. If the refs could get in on that silent treatment they'd be tickled, too.

Suns don't intend to trade Markieff Morris
Markieff Morris | PHO
(September 16, 2015 8:46 PM EDT)
Suns beat writer Paul Coro reports that the team "[does] not intend to trade" Markieff Morris, and still view him as their starting PF.
Tyson Chandler intends to speak with Morris "soon," in an attempt to convince him that his feelings toward the front office shouldn't impact his on-court performance. Morris said that he has no intention of playing for Phoenix, essentially demanding a trade, so this situation could come to a head quickly with training camp on the horizon. In addition to Markieff's negative view of the Suns' franchise, he's still contending with aggravated assault charges which will be heard by a grand jury on Oct. 15.

I can understand making statements like that publicly because it should help as far any offers they get from other teams but I really hope that Markieff isn't with the team going in to 2016. I don't think he'll be traded during training camp, I think to get the best value in return will be after the December 15th deadline when players who signed in the offseason can be moved. Moving him at the deadline or close to it could shake the team up too much like all the moves did this year and potentially cost them a playoff birth, which won't bode well for Hornacek's future. By then he'll hopefully have demonstrated that he can play without Marcus on the team, act like a professional of some sort, and his legal issues will have been resolved. Having the Suns look as though they're moving forward with him should help with their image to other players and teams across the league, which should clear up that they're willing to move him for something of value in return and not just looking to dump him for pennies on the dollar. I think they've done a good job handling the situation publicly all along and they needed to after the organization took a hit with the Dragic drama last season. So long as he's here he'll always be a powder keg that could go off at any time.

Today's media day, anyone care to speculate on what Markieff Morris will say today? Surely he's gonna be asked about all this...
