Maybe the Suns could work a three team trade with the Pistons to get a player they want from another team.

Now why would the Suns want to trade Kieff?

He is saying and doing all the right things and his teammates love him and want him to stay.

Does not seem to me like the Suns are going to trade Kieff. He is good, young and cheap and a good fit with Chandler and Len.

One news source I read (sorry, I cannot find it now) said that McD will not even start a conversation about a Kieff trade unless a starter and a 1st round pick is on the table.

I remember something to this effect as well.

i really hope that's just posturing, because if that's what he really believes Kieff is worth, he's drinking drano.

To whom and for what? Who else is going to want him now?

I think a buyout makes more sense. He's owed $32 million over the next four years. Maybe he'd take $20M to go away. If another team is willing to offer something of value, then obviously you do that, but if the Suns just have to dump him with nothing coming back, I'd rather have the roster space flexibility than whatever dreck is the other side of the trade equation.

So hey, here's one I got right, back in August.

Unfortunately, yes, but I think that McD also miscalculated the whole process.

He should have tried to trade hard Markieff and if the return is more than a pure expiring one, he should have pulled the trigger. He probably wanted more, tried wait patiently until the proper offer comes and the walking lockerroom-cancer bomb just exploded in the meantime.
