That's one of the dumbest things I've ever read, and I've been on a be cool kick lately..but that is just dot com stuff, viral nonsense.....IMO.
Uh, other than Jordan who the hell is better than him? And if you post Kobe then that would be one of the dumbest things that I have ever read.

If you don't know by now, not much I can say at this point amigo. Kobe isn't number 2 in my book, but I'd take him in his prime over Lebron any day. Lebron getting kudos tonight is expected, Wade is about done, I'd put him infront of James as well.

I'd still put Magic above him. Probably Wilt too. But he's got a chance.

LeBron is just the flat out all around better and more dominating player who has done more for his teams than Kobe ever did for his.

And Wade? You are joking right?

'Have to disagree there. LeBron isn't just a Point Forward. He's a 6'8"-240 Forward on defense who plays a true Point on offense. He brings the ball downcourt on every play and it keeps passing through him.

He's also a triple-double threat. Kobe is a Wing and has never been a steady triple-double threat. And now that LeBron has developed his outside shot, he's moved farther ahead of Kobe at his best.

Kobe was never the clearly best player in the NBA in any particular season.

Lebron has been for years.

The notion that Lebron is below Kobe or Wade is ridiculous.

I'm sorry but LeBron James is the 2nd best player to ever play the game of basketball. There's no avoiding that.

Too young to have watched Wilt or Russell.

I am always amazed at how big men are completely ignored in these discussions. Kareem, Wilt, Hakeem, even look at what Duncan has done. Shaq was completely dominating for a time and won championships on two teams (not just two championships).

You are fine with having your opinion, its the "there's no avoiding that" part that I would disagree with.

LeBron might end up being that, but he is not there yet.

Kareem, Wilt, Hakeem, LeBron, Magic, Duncan, Shaq, Russell are all rookies. You are building a team. You have first pick. Who do you take? No, Jordan is not on the board.

I don't think I am taking LeBron.

Now if the discussion is LeBron or Kobe, I am taking LeBron.

Uh yeah Lebron easily, statistically superior in every measure. Wilt is the most overrated legend every, his stats are way overrated by his era.

The only argument that any Lebron discussion retorts to is "Rings" which is the worst "statistic" ever to judge an individual player.

Did you ever watch Wilt play?

Did you ever watch Kareem play?

To say Lebron or Jordan are head and shoulders above either of those guys is silly.

The guy to compare Lebron to is Magic.

I do not think it is cut and dried as to who is better between those two. It is in the eyes of the beholder. Magic did not have to score as much to allow his team to win but was more than capable of doing so if necessary.

I'd still take Magic. He got thrown into a situation where he had to play out of position during the NBA Finals as a rookie and came up big. He put up a line of 42 points/15 rebounds/7 assists.

Throughout his career he made others around him better. As you said, he could have scored more but got others involved.

I'd take Magic over LeBron. Magic was a playmaker and a scorer and made people around him better. LeBron is a great player but he doesn't make the guys around him better.

Please explain. His stats stood out head and shoulders above all the other players of his era. If the other Centers had stats close to his but he was at the top, that would be a different story.

My post is strictly about your reference to "stats" (Chamberlain), not winning championships (Russell).

Of course, Wilt was 7'1"-275 and Russ was 6'9"-215. Which contributed to Chamberlain being considered the most dominant player in NBA history (not just in his era), with Jordan #2 (in my opinion). The other great legends line up behind them.

It is really tough comparing players from different eras to each other, but I'd have to take Magic over James. James may be the closest thing to Magic since Magic, but in my opinion, Magic was such a unique talent. In all fairness, James is MUCH better defensively.

I do believe that James has elevated himself over Kobe Bryant in his prime. Don't get me wrong folks- I still can't stand him, but he is one hell of a player- possibly the best player in the post MJ era.

THIS.

Never heard Wilt called "overrated" before.

That is a close one and to me it depends on the team around them. If it is one on one, LeBron all day long.

Man, I totally disagree that Bron doesn't make guys better. How do you think Miami gets so many open looks? It's because of LeBron's ability to draw double teams and go to the hole and then almost ALWAYS make the right pass.

And you didn't even mention defense, where LeBron is a dynamo, while magic was average at best...and that's being generous.

If you gave LeBron Kareem, Byron Scott and James Worthy, that team probably wins 70 games every year and might never loses a title.

Hey - Mo Williams made LeBron James ... not the other way around ... it was his all star performances that allowed LeBron to do his thing, just look how he's sustained his level of play before and after

Sure, LeBron may be able to constantly beat his man off the dribble, draw a triple team in the paint and have enough strength and vision to muscle a pass out to the perimeter for wide open shots ..... but that would be worthless if he didn't have guys who were willing to get to that point .... clearly LeBron would have no assists and would just be swallowed up in the paint by a triple team if the guys around him didn't make him look good by spacing on the perimeter and waiting for open shots.................
