Personally I think they will be captured. I agree it was Bronn, and thought it was him as I was watching it. It just looks like him. I'm going to guess at what this means.

Can Jaime be turned against Cersei? He'll have his brother Tyrion who he now knows unequivocally did not kill Joffrey. It cements everything that Tyrion had to do to survive, and legitimizes everything Jaime did to help Tyrion. His crazy family did it to themselves, why defend that part of it, when another part of it still exists? A nobler part. A part that can be seen as worthy to the Lannister name and can be saved. (family redemption seems to be a big theme in GoT.)

Tyrion is now trying to get Daenerys to not slaughter everyone in Kings Landing and remove Cersei. Bronn is friends with Tyrion, so that could help. It will also show to Jaime that if Tyrion can be the hand of Daenerys, that mercy can be shown to him as well.

Olenna tried to warn Jaime how he was blind to Cersei's evil, and was responsible for the events that led to the deaths of their children.

Meanwhile Cersei is being courted by Euron Greyjoy, positively (thus Jaime has lost his place with Cersei), and Euron has been humiliating and backhanded threatening Jaime (hand joke, and try killing your brother remark). He would probably not have a future on Cersei's side as Euron would probably kill Jamie. With the Lannister army mostly destroyed, and if Jaime is captured, she'll need Euron now even more, as that's all she'll basically have at her disposal (and as a leader). He has to think Cersei has accelerated her engagement to Euron and all that means to Jaime.

There's just been a lot of events recently and throughout the show that seem to indicate it is possible he could switch sides. In spirit Jaime doesn't like the crazy actions that has brought everything to this point.

IMO it's only his love for Cersei that has him on her side. All this stuff coming up, I think means he switches sides. Which could also foreshadow her death. Even if he wants to be on her side, it now looks like the losing side, aside from what maybe some sellswords can do. Hired thugs may flee when seeing the dragons in action.

There's even some internet theories about Cersei and Jaime based on where they were standing in the map room and such. Even a theory on the kill method based on the map and some other stuff.

Jaime knew that Tyrion didn't kill Joffrey, he trusted him and he helped him escape because he believed he didn't do it. He knows that Tyrion killed Tywin though and Jaime won't just forgive him for that. Jaime let Tyrion out of his cell, he knows that Tyrion sought out Tywin instead of escaping like he was supposed to so he's not going to just let that slide. Jaime values family but when his brother murders his father and then takes off to help the greatest threat to Westeros and Cersei, he's not going to be able to sweep that under the rug. I would be shocked if he switched sides, he may turn on Cersei but he won't join Tyrion and Dany's side. If Tywin were still around then everything would be different in Kings Landing and Westeros, Tommen would probably be alive still and Cersei wouldn't have blown up the Sept.

Yeah...I don't see Jaimie switching sides...unless it is to kill cersei and surrender...I do see Tyrion trying to beg the dragon queen for mercy and allow his brother to live out his life broke and handless at casterly rock.... she knows her dad was nuts so its a possibility.

there is always the possibility that he kills cersei in a dramatic womb to the grave murder/suicide....

It doesn't matter if Bronn was wearing plate or not. He was wearing leather armor. While it is possible (though not likely) to not drown while wearing leather armor, you're sure in the heck not then pulling someone up with you that's wearing plate themselves. But with the way they have ruined the Greyjoys by making them magic, they'll find a way to do it.

Solid set up episode for next week. A couple of small details in tonight's episode that may play a big role later on.

Except they were still wearing their armor when they came out. Very, very poor, as is the time travel. Some of the awful writing of the past two seasons is leaking through. Also, they don't have time for setup episodes any more. Dragging their feet in the last two seasons is REALLY costing them now.

Still, a mostly solid episode. I enjoyed a lot in there. They just let a lot of the stupid seep back in lol

It was rushed - another half hour would have made all the difference.

Although part of it is the pacing of the last few seasons was so slow, anything seems rushed in comparison.

I didn't think twice about it. Had no impact on my enjoyment of the show. To each their own I guess.
They certainly won't kill off Jaime. And it was a river, after all, so it couldn't have been that deep, even despite that final shot in the previous episode.

There were a lot of great things in this episode.
Gendry, pregnancy, Littlefinger's playing of Arya -- or Arya's playing of Littlefinger?, some more great Tormund lines, Jon and the Dragon, Jorah/Dany reunion, the Rhaegar annulment reveal, the Seven Samurai going north of the wall, Davos with comedic relief only possible by the Onion Knight, a Ghost mention, the Tarly BBQ... A lot of great stuff.

When is it appropriate to not have to use spoilers to discuss an episode already aired?

Maybe immediately after the first airing on the east coast? I think it's fair game after that. I make sure not to come on here until I've watched the latest episode.

I think after it airs on the west coast it should be fair game. People can avoid the thread if they don't want spoilers.

It's funny you should mention this. Actually, I was little annoyed that Littlefinger was playing Arya. The first thought in my head was maybe that's what the audience is being led to believe. I find it hard to believe after all her training she wouldn't be two steps ahead of Littlefinger. Maybe that's her plan. Maybe she is setting up Littlefinger for his fall.

The Night King just wants to dance!

You must be registered for see images attach

He's just rubbing it in Bran's face at this point.

Still, I feel like dancing now. What better way is there to stay warm in the winter?

Training or not, Littlefinger is a master of the game and only Varys has shown to be close to an equal when it comes to knowledge and manipulation when it comes to grabbing for power.

I think too much is being made of how Jaime and Bronn got out of the river, and went in for that matter. It was more camera work than it was sinking. Sure, it would have been difficult for Bronn to pull him out but that's why they only showed them reaching shore rather than the struggle. I don't think he sunk nearly as deep as some people suspected either, like I said it was camera work to get a great shot and there was no way to tell accurately how deep that water was or how deep he went.

Because it's stupid, lazy writing that didn't need to be stupid, lazy writing. It's what hurt seasons 5 and 6. We've already had a ton of it with the Dorne and Greyjoy stuff, too. It's not sinking (ha ha) this season, but it was frustrating for the bad writing to slip in a little more in this episode.

Still a solid episode, and I agree with a lot of what you wrote in the spoilers, but that was very weak sauce.

Yep. They screwed up the last two seasons--I think dragging them out to wait for another book, but for whatever reason--so now they're forced to hurry. It's a shame. Still, a lot of this season has returned to the quality of seasons 1-4.

The Jaime stuff was schmuckbait, but it didn't bother me. I thought it was a pretty solid breather/set-up episode for the last two biggies to come this season.

My only thought/eye-brow raise was "the plan". As awesome as the Game Of Expendables ending was, does that plan make any sense whatsoever? Cersei is already staring defiantly at the probability of dragonfire. Is she really going to give two ish if a White Walker is put in front of her?

I get that the men on a mission don't know the answer to that, but as viewers and knowing Cersei, that doesn't seem like it'll bother her much... if anything, she'll prob find a way to use the walkers to try and kill everyone else once she knows of their existence/location.
