Because it prevents a player from covering the ball in the end zone and what if the ball hits at a angle and bounces back and a Lion recovers it... which the defensive guy knew when he directed it out

Do you remember last week when they let Gurley run all over with poor tackling playing soft D? I do. So when they start playing soft I call it as I see it

I don't think it should be a penalty. I would coach my players to do what the Seahawks LBer did. It becomes a grey area on what is intent and what is clumsy

Just another silly rule IMO that gives the refs another chance to screw up.
