I see a D that's still playing hard but definitely in a prevent style. No big plays allowed over their heads.

Because it prevents a player from covering the ball in the end zone and what if the ball hits at a angle and bounces back and a Lion recovers it... which the defensive guy knew when he directed it out

I don't think it should be a penalty. I would coach my players to do what the Seahawks LBer did. It becomes a grey area on what is intent and what is clumsy
Just another silly rule IMO that gives the refs another chance to screw up.
