the steelers cut their awful K and picked up another who was gang-busters for them the next week. You act like there can't possibly be anyone out there who's better. Well, when the Punter you have is literally the worst in the league, you have to at least look for someone.

and it's not incumbent on posters to give names. That's what Keim is making hundreds of thousands of dollars for.

Punterwise, you can get off a scrapheap but aside from the block, Butler was gangbusters tonight. He averaged 48 yards which is nearly 10 yards better than his season average.

Butler sucks but that block wasn't all him. Should never get blocked from the middle.

Butler takes a century to kick the effing ball, that's his problem. Posters here have been predicting a mishap like what happened tonight from the start of the season.

Really? What are you, 12? Grow up. This post just goes to show me that you don't have anything intelligent to add.

Please. Criticize my post by asking me to provide you with kickers and punters right at this very moment? Shove it bro, or go crawl back to azcardinals.com.

Oh I agree. But a block up the middle is an unforgivable sin for the blockers.

Jefferson got burned a few times at the end, then redeems himself with the INT.

Didn't criticize, you said to cut both Butler and Cat right now and I simply asked you to name alternatives meaning my point is at this point in the season there aren't any. As for the 2nd half of your comment here, bless your little heart.

I don't know if that TE catch over the back shoulder is a burn, fantastic toss and catch, at least Jefferson brought him down immediately. But Jefferson is not ideal cover on the larger TEs (outside of Bucannon, do we have any size in the backfield?)

Those 2 plays were hilarious. The TE pushed off Jefferson before jumping for the catch so Jefferson was asking for a flag. Then on the pick the same TE was asking for a pushing penalty on Jefferson when he pushed off again the ball was just overthrown.

If only Fua got some PT.

I really wouldn't mind him covering Jimmy Graham on obvious passing situations when we play Seattle so Jimmy won't have a definite height advantage.

I am done with this ******* team. Everybody says that after games like this, but I am done. This is not fun, not even a little bit.

I find it completely fun! Gut wrenching, sick to my stomach fun! Maybe its because regardless of outcome, I can get up the next day and move on with my life. You know, like regular people do.

Aside from the block, the one that resulted in an at-the-moment-games-not-over, touchdown by our opponent, one that this entire board has seen coming for the entire season, the one that took him 3 full steps and over 2 seconds to get off his foot even though the pressure was obviously coming, he was gangbusters tonight.

Its not his ability to punt well that everyone is worried about. Its his penchant for ****ting the bed at least once a game, every game, and its going to eventually cost us a win. It nearly did tonight.

Hes gotta go.

FWIW this link shows he really only took 2 steps, the 3rd "step" was the actual punt. https://twitter.com/NFL/status/658843539510464512?ref_src=twsrc^tfw

He tried to slide a bit to his left I'm not sure if he already realized the middle was unprotected or if he always does that but he took 2 steps. one of the comments said the ball was kicked in 1.88 seconds, which is the same number they gave on NFLN this morning so someone must have timed that, ESPN said 2.03.

Note when they say punts the goal is 2 to 2.1 seconds but that includes about .8 for a snap so the actual punt part is 1.3 or less. So if the 1.88 is for real that means he kicked the ball in about 1.08 seconds unless that snap was faster than usual.

He's a terrible punter, he ought to be replaced but the one last night wasn't his fault.

I'm a big fan of stats, more than I should be, but his punting stats and yardage don't concern me nearly as much as his release.

He's like a QB with a long windup or similar slow release. No matter who you are or how good your fundamentals, you can't be an accurate QB with a slow release. When the ball has to come out in 3 seconds, you can't spend 1 of those on the release. In that 1 second or half second, every player on the field has moved several yards in position. It can be done obviously, if you're in a timing offense and throwing to spots, but it's incredibly difficult and unlikely, which is why many coaches would rather change a throwing motion altogether.

Which is also why Rodgers is so damn phenomenal--no matter his body position or angle he's able to bring the ball from his hip to over his shoulder and throw a laser faster than anyone else in the NFL, probably ever (Marino maybe). His fundamentals aren't even sound, certainly not textbook, you'd never deliberately teach someone to play that way--half the time he doesn't even have the correct angle or balance to swivel his hips the way you'd like, carries the ball at hip level too often... yet he throws accurate darts, consistently... so you probably see that as a coach and you're like damn, that's ugly but I'm not "fixing" a damn thing, like artwork where they just splash a bunch of random paint on some **** and you stare at it uncomprehendingly and ask, "what is it?" and the guy replies, "It's art."

Too many beers, forgot what I was even responding to...

Oh, yeah, Butler. He sucks.
