The Giants released WR/Returner Darius Reynaud, DT Gabe Watson, Kicker Rhys Lloyd, DE Alex Hall, DE Ayanga Okpokowuruk, Punter Matt Dodge and C Jim Cordle.

Wouldn't mind taking a look at Reynaud either.

Watson just doesn't have the "want to" that you need to succeed in the NFL. Same with Alan Branch, Wendell Bryant etc.

We seem to draft a lot of those players.

Disagree. Couldn't play worse than Robinson.

Then agree to disagree. Robinson wasn't good last year but still made some plays. Watson didn 't make a single play and had bigger and better oiled roller skates then Robinson.

Robinson was given start after start that he didn't deserve and was an absolute disaster. After Dwreck one of the more frustrating things witnessed week after week.

From what I heard, Whiz had flat-out had it with Watson and Branch about their weight. They were on think ice as it was because of their inconsistency and they were basically done the day they came in after the lockout ended and the coaches laid eyes on them. I think they have permanently severed ties.

D Williams will be in that same boat if he doesn't get his offseason act together.

Is this the NFL or Dr.Oz? "Sure we were 5-11 for the third year in a row but at least our guys aren't fat."

However, we all know the reality. Watson was let go to make room for another 30+ year old ex-Steeler.

C'mon

Gabe Watson was hardly a hot commodity in free agency, drawing little interest and signing a minimum deal. Oh yeah, he didn't make the roster either.

In a league that puts a premium on finding defensive linemen, effectively the entire NFL has passed on him.

I liked Gabe, but since his injury, he hasn't been the same. Let's not make him in to something he isn't.

Whose making him into anything he's not? Not one person on this thread that I can see. I just made a joke about CKW's signing 30 year former Steelers. Why do you think the first cut list posted on ASFN was Pittsburgh's. :D

BTW: Not that I think Watson was anything special but I put no value whatsoever on rating players based on teams passing on them.

The same guys who draft players, pick up free agents. If those guys were so great at it you'd never hear that the draft is a crapshoot and about so many free agent flops.

Three of the very best defensive players Arizona has ever had were 3rd round picks passed over by every team in the NFL twice. Aeneas Williams, Adrian Wilson and Darnell Dockett.

(I wonder what the odds are on that? Those three studs all being 3rd round picks by the Cardinals and both Wilson and Dockett being the 64th pick in their draft.)

I laughed during Love Story, does that count?

Steve

Count? That's awesome.

Of course you should never admit you are old enough to have seen that movie. Unless you play for the Steelers and are looking to improve your chances of catching on with Arizona.

Did you know that this will be the 2nd season in a row we've had 3 times as many Steelers pre 2004 draft picks on our roster than Cardinal picks from before 2004?

:D
