I think it's Kolb amigo.
Never ever going to happen, and neither is Luck, Whiz would be fired with the season it would take to get Luck. Luck will never be a Cardinal. Whiz wants to right the ship, we will at least have a better season than last year=no Luck.We could end up with the #1 or #2 pick next year. Graves would be a complete idiot to give up a #1 for Kolb plus have to pay him a large salary and likely a long contract. That just makes no sense what so ever. If there is some QB that is a starter that some team for what ever reason may want to trade then it would depend who that person might be. No one on my radar fits a trade for our #1 pick next year. I prefer to stand pat, sign the best we can in FA without giving up picks and go for broke next season.
Or we could get some sub par QB (Orton for example) and wind up with a mediocore record draft around #10 and lose out on Luck.. Then we'll have no real QB and Fitz could be gone... If you have a guy targeted that you think can help you win, you dont hope you can get the top draft pick the next year.. You go get the guy to win now..We could end up with the #1 or #2 pick next year. Still Kolb is not worth a first round pick in my opinion.
Who says Kolb isn't subpar? Then we will end up with a terrible season and no first round pick at all.
Huh? He IS young. He's been in the league, what? 3 years? He's not young, has only been successful in an Andy Reed system, will command a huge salary and a first round pick as well?
Amen. Do people honestly think he's a top 15 qb? I don't even know if he has the potential to be one. He's not young, has only been successful in an Andy Reed system, will command a huge salary and a first round pick as well? No thanks, I'd rather go with Alex Smith, Bulger, or even Orton.

And, you could also say that he's been successful in EVERY system he's been in. He was good enough in college to be a 2nd round pick and he played well enough in the NFL that the Eagles got rid of McNabb so that he could start.
Taking a QB in the first is more of a gamble than trading for a guy that's already shown he can do it.

Not young? The guy is 26 yrs old! 27 when the season starts, thats hardly over the hill for a QB. Bulger is 34--that is "not young".
FYI both Cassel & Schaub were traded at the age of 26 as well.

True, I'm not geeked about Bulger either, but he won't cost a potential top 10 draft pick and a massive contract either.
And Cassel has had one decent season, and one pretty bad one, and only cost a 2nd round pick.
Schaub has been good, but hasn't led his team to the playoffs once.
I'm not saying there is any easy fix, and I realize that we'll be in a tough spot until we find a QB. I'm just not that impressed with Kolb, and think we're giving up too much to acquire him.
Yup. If you have a guy out there that you truly believe is a "franchise" QB and you have the ability to attain him? You make that move.
A first round is a high pick. But if that QB turns out to be what you wanted you will be set for a decade at the most important position on the field. Well worth a first rounder(or DRC but not both).
On the flip side if the guy turns out to not be the right guy it could hurt the franchise for years and cost people their jobs. It is a huge gamble...but could be worth it.

No different than the gamble of drafting a rook in that spot next year. Yet instead of waiting for the growing pains Kolbs immediate impact and 3 years in the league should make us more ready to win now.
Fans and ownership tend to be more patient with rookies. If Kolb doesn't give us that immediate impact it will hurt the franchise. I am just being devils advocate here anyway...Kolb isn't my first choice but I can completely understand if the franchise goes that direction and will give them credit for trying to fix a HUGE problem on this team (Palmer is my first choice--Kolb a distant second).
