Okay, you raised my curiosity so I googled it even though I was sure I didn't know the movie. And guess what? I watched that movie about 20 years ago. Which is weird since the movie is only about a decade old. I don't remember it well (obviously, since the quote was foreign to me) but what I do recall is that I was very disappointed in it at the time. I gave away several thousand DVD's a few years ago and I know it was in the first batch I got rid of. But now I have to wonder if I was just in the wrong mood when I watched it?

I didn't care for it the first time I watched it either. It wasn't until several years later that I rewatched it & loved. Weird I know.

Crap, sorry about the delay everybody. It was Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Val Kilmer and RDJ.

Bacon: What's that?

Samoan Joe's Barman: It's a cocktail. You asked for a cocktail.

Bacon: No. I asked you to give me a refreshing drink. I wasn't expecting a f'ing rainforest! You could fall in love with an orangutan in that!

Samoan Joe's Barman: You want a pint, you go to the pub.

Bacon: I thought this was a pub!

Samoan Joes Barman: It's a Samoan pub.

I double-checked, and I was correct indeed. Here we go with the next:

"Faith, there's a witness that you can't deny: yourself, sir! For if I'm not a physician, how is it I know that you're a dying man? The death to which you're dooming hundreds of poor men daily - in a frantic effort to send their souls to perdition before your own - is a light pleasantry compared to the bleeding death in the lungs to which the great Judge has condemned you."

After picking on others for being a bit tough, I went the classic route myself. This one might be difficult, so I'll give hints if required.

I thought I knew it, and then I googled it and realized I was right. Should I reveal it m'hearty?

Aye, me lad! One of my favorite books and movies! We share more in movie taste than you might think :)
Funny thing is, IMO, it isn't even his best pirate movie! I prefer The Sea Hawk.

Little known fact: In The Goonies, Sloth is watching a clip from CAPTAIN BLOOD, but the music that is being used in that clip (and on the movie's soundtrack) is from another Errol Flynn movie, "The Adventures of Don Juan".

Man, you're ticking a lot of boxes for me, Chap :) Great info about the music in Goonies. I loved the Sea Hawk too, but not as much as Captain Blood. I may be prejudiced, because the movie was supposed to be based on Sabatini's Sea Hawk (he also wrote Captain Blood and Scaramouche, another great classic movie), but they changed it in development.

The Sea Hawk is screaming out for a modern adaptation, either in film or on cable TV. C'mon, Chap, Cheese, get this done!

LOL, the first script I ever wrote was a dramatic (and gory) action-packed Pirate movie. But I finished it when Cutthroat Island came out (which bombed), so I never did any edits to it, just stuck it in a drawer where it remains to this day. I had some hope when the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie came out, but it had those supernatural elements that I didn't like. My script had nothing like that. There hasn't been a good true "pirate" movie in decades.

Character 1: Taxes! Taxes! Beautiful, lovely taxes! Ah-hah! Ah-hah!

Character 2: Sire, you have an absolute skill for encouraging contributions from the poor.

Character 1: To coin a phrase, my dear counselor, rob the poor to give the rich.

I think this is Disney version of Robin Hood.

Correct. One of my top 5 Disney movies.

I watched it about 1000x with my kids... I think I had it memorized at one time. There are really some great voices... Peter Ustinov, Andy Devine, Terry Thomas, Pat Buttram, Roger Miller. OO-DA-Lally, golly what a day!!

It should have been called Sherwood's Jungle Book Forest. I don't know which one came first but I'm pretty sure it was Jungle Book. But I do know they each used several of the same sequences not to mention many of the same voice actors.
