Personally I would cut Skelton. I was commenting on the fact Whiz took some heavy criticism for not being positive and mistreating his QB's.

And I like that he had the KC experience, for good and for bad---which, imo, makes him better qualified than all these intriguing, but seemingly not really ready OCs.

He will have to interview very good and assure the FO he's grown as a coach.

So what did Parcells impart to Haley?

And I agree that Horton's OC in particular leaves a lot to be desired for this particular offense and it's woes. We need a real Dr. not an assistant.

The only thing I heard was tonight on NFLN and they said he didn't want to be interviewed unless he was considered to be a serious candidate whatever the hell that means.

This does not sound like a guy that would be good for the Cardinals right now, or ever. Ill gladly eat crow if I'm wrong, but I don't think I am in this case.

I'm not going to apologize for Todd Haley, but don't you think this might have more to do with Ben Roethlisberger being down for four games and a revolving door at RB more than whatever special stink sauce Haley added to the brew?

That's the yardage ranking. Scoring offense ranking was essentially unchanged.

I would be rather entertained by the hire. Make no mistake, EVERY team in the NFC West has a SOB prick as their HC. Haley would fit in nicely!

So they actually scored more with 2 less games from their starter...

And last year their offensive line was a ruin while this year it was far healthier. And Ben may have only missed 2 games last year but he played injured and poorly as a result in several.

Their offense this season was worse than last year. Less passing yards, less rushing yards, less yards per pass, less yards per carry (where they were among the worst in football), way less 1st downs. Them scoring a couple more points on the year does not impress when the team as a whole was significantly worse at simply moving the ball.

No their OL was a mess this year. If you follow the Steelers at all you'd know Haley was brought in to protect Ben by running a similar version to the WCO. What people didn't expect was higher efficiency scoring. Plus they had more non-offense touchdowns 2 years ago so the PPG numbers are a bit phony in 2011 and Ben only missed 1 game instead of 3.

The whole point was the original argument that Haley sucks because of some irrelevant stats. He sucks because he was a mediocre HC who got fired 3 years in to his tenure.

We know that MB loves Haley...

We know that no offensive coach has pushed Fitz more and gotten more out of Fitz than Haley...

If what MJ reported about Ray Horton's choices for OC and DC is accurate---that assembly of a staff would be tough to sell to an SEC school. Not kidding. Not that Kirby Wilson and Lou Spanos are bad coaches---they are both immensely unproven, and neither has any NFL experience as a coordinator.

I was on the fence about Haley but anyone from the Parcells coaching tree gets my vote. This team sorely needs an offensive mind. The defense- with or without DC Horton- will be a Top 10 (maybe Top 5) unit in 2013.

Considering the alternatives out there and available right now I would give Haley a chance. We are almost all saying we don't want a ahc with no experience and then that HC hiring inexperienced OC and DC so what you are getting with Haley is a guy who has some experience and some exposure to other coaches around the league.
