They often do. Because otherwise they player can make his feelings known and his intentions to do exactly what Reddick is doing right now...and it kills the deal.

More likely they don't want to work with him and his unreasonable contract demands. They see no point in investing time and money with no return insight. IMO

Not sure what his plan is here. If he sits out an entire year (10 games out, 2-3 games to get ready and then half effort in 4 games) he would no doubt get less in the open market.

said differently -- no owner is going to show up, throw a draft pick at the Jets and give Hasaan the contract he wants ---

simply to send a message to the players that this behavior wont be rewarded
