I haven't talked to anybody about him, but my guess is the Cardinals are set at DT. Wilkinson didn't have a very good year in 2002. There is always a reason other than money why guys get cut.

Dave- I enjoy hearing your call, and would love to tune out the announcers when the Cards are on the road...but the delay drives me crazy.

Is there any way to defeat the delay?

Dave,

First off, it is awesome you and Mistler are here chatting it up with the fans. We seem looney sometimes but by and large we are harmless.

My questions are in regards to the backfield:

Are the Cards working any sets with Smith and Shipp out there together?

Will Anderson get some extensive playing time this year? (I have been very high on him from day 1 last year)

Prentice seems to be impressing so far. How does he fit into the mix?

Thanks

First off Dave...

Thanks so much for your imput.

My comment and question. I believe any success we hope to enjoy this year rests squarely on the shoulders of the offensive line. Our division does not boast a run stuffing defense, which leads me to believe we can control the tempo of the game against our division rivals providing this offensive line can blossom.
I know its early, but how has our offensive line looked especially trying to run the ball and can this unit be a dominant force?

Pasch is Cash!

Thanks, Dave. Great info and insights, especially for those of us who live outside of Arizona.

I am hoping you will sprinkle some Orangemen magic on the Cardinals this year. Congratulations, by the way! I am a BC grad and avid fan, and especially in light of the way BC and Seton Hall got snubbed by the Invitation Committee, I was extra glad that Syracuse snipped down the nets.

My question for you...would you predict the 53 man roster and 5 man practice squad for us, based on what you've seen thus far?

Here was my prediction going into camp:

QB (3): Blake, McCown, Parsons

RB (4): Smith, Shipp, Hodgins, Anderson

TE (4): Jones, Bush, Banks, Diamond

OL (9): Shelton, Spikes, Kendall, Davis, Clement, Dishman, Wells, Roundtree, Wragge

WR (6): Boldin, Johnson, Gilmore, McAddley, Foster, Kasper

SP (3): Gramatica, Player, Hodel

DL (8): Vanden Bosch, Bryant, Bell, Pace, King, Johnson, Tanner, Wakefield

LB (7): Hayes, McKinnon, Thompson, Fisher, Gilbert, Darling, Young

DB (9): Starks, Jackson, Wilson, Barrett, Rhinehart, Lucas, Hill, Stone, Harris

PS (5): Grace, Hamilton, Newhouse, Savage, Nelson

Thanks again, Dave, Walter Mitchell

I gotta get in here with a few...:)

Dave, thanks for answering questions for all of us. Really lets us get an inside look at what's going on up in Flag.

My question:

Is there alot of talk going around about the new stadium and all now that it's finally getting built? Any notable excitement?

Yes. Turn your tv off, and let us paint the pictures for you! Seriously, as far as I know, there is nothing you can do to defeat the delay.

Hey. I think there is a chance we'll see Smith and Shipp in the backfield together at one time during the season. I like Anderson as a potential third down back, but it's going to be interesting to see how he does in the pre-season games. Anderson, Scobey and Prentice are probably battling for 2 spots. They all bring something different.

I think the key to our season depends on the health of the O-line. There is more depth on the line than last season, which is a positive. So far, they look very good, but I haven't seen the five projected starters play together yet.

Walter, it's too early to pick the 53, but your list looks pretty good. I am not sure about the kicker yet, and they will likely keep another running back. You also forgot Russell Davis at DT, and I'm not sure about Wragge.

Dave, thanks, but I thought radio stations with live call in shows regularly broadcast on a delay to give time to bleep out profanities?

I understand home games can't be delayed b/c of the people in the stands listening along, but why not slap a 5 sec delay on away games?

Absolutely machine. This stadium is going to be one of a kind. Dallas is already looking to copy what the Cardinals are doing. Unfortunately, we have to wait 3 years to play in it.

Dave -

There's been an ongoing discussion with repect to what level KVB can rise as a DE in the NFL now that he appears fully recovered from his injury of a year ago . . . your thoughts?

Dave:

Since it's going around here, and I haven't heard anyone comment on it:

How is Michael Stone looking in camp? What positions are he working at? How's his attitude and conditioning?

Last year Kyle was still tentative, because he was concerned about the knee. I don't see any hesitation off the ball this year. Kyle also put on close to 20 pounds of muscle, and made a committment to the Lord this off-season. Plus, he has that motor running on high every play. I expect big things out of Kyle this season!!

Michael is right now the 5th safety on the roster. He has that speed that could make him a good special teams player. New DB's coach Ron Milus is very impressive, and Stone is probably getting the best teaching of his career. The question is, can he do something with it?

Dave,
Is there any possibilty of moving Stone to corner considering Starks' hammy?
Is he better suited to safety of corner?

if you have directTivo, you might be able to record the game, and set up a 20 second video delay.

maybe, I don't know. I'm getting directtivo installed sat, (with nfl ticket of course)

Dave,

I was wondering what is the most difficult part of doing play by play?

Dave - The radio coverage (and your word pictures) of scrimmage and preseason games become all the more important to us out-of-town Cardinal fans, because there will be no out-out-market TV coverage of the Cards this year.

Our only vehicle for catching the action will be your dulcet tones streamed over the Internet courtesy of the Cards and KDUS.

We're counting on you.

Dave how is Bell doing. We have heard reports that he is finally putting it together. What are the chances he is going to be a starter at DT come season opener.

Hey Dave,

thanks for taking the time to answer all our questions.

I have a question about Nate Dwyer. He was a huge disappointment last year. How is he doing this year? Has he shown anything to prove he was worthly of a 4th round selection?
