Smoove got 22/10 on 8-21 shooting.

AMARE SUCKS
What you don't get is that any Suns fan would LOVE for amare to be THE MAN he claims he can be. Unfortunately all we're seeing is a half assed effort. AMare wants to be an MVP, he wants to be considered one of the best in the NBA, along with Wade, Lebron and Kobe, yet his game doesn't match his talk. If Amare kept his mouth shut and just went out there playing his game every night no one would have a problem. But he keeps writing checks he can't cash.

I don't care how they got the win, a win is a win. Sure they sucked and lost that huge lead, but the most important thing is they won. They won people.

I couldn't watch the game tonight. Was there any reason LB didn't get more minutes? At least on paper he really seemed productive... more than J-Rich.

Of course kids like you cant see the impact Amare brings. There is a reason Shaq rarely gets doubled, there is a reason Barbosa, Barnes. Jrich get wide open threes. Amare is playing very unselfish on offense but its still not good enough for you kids.

Zaza had 7 offensive rebounds. Where is the criticism of Shaq? You wont see it because this board is too busy telling him how his ass taste.

You're being really annoying.

You have to read pages and pages of bashing to even find out what is going on in the game. Amare gets blamed for some random little thing every play and it goes on for pages jesus christ give it up already.

Youre stretching, buddy.

Shaq had 26 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks and only 3 fouls.

I can understand that he's going to be out-hustled for some rebounds. Thats something you give up to have a player as dominating as he can be. The pros are bigger than the cons.

Amare isn't 320 pounds. He's not 36. He managed FIVE freaking rebounds, only one after the first quarter and he gave up multiple offensive rebounds in the fourth quarter (including one to Zaza which you want to blame Shaq for).

Shaq is cashing the real checks.

How dominating is Shaq? He is still unstoppable. I remember people on these boards saying how we are trading a versatile all-star in his prime (Marion) for an old injury prone center in Shaq. All those people need to SHUT IT.

Doubt it. This team cant handle a player like Amare. Amare will be gone after next year and if put in a decent situation, will prove the stupidity of most of you idiots.

He is put on a team with Shaq and Nash. Look at the two superstars that previously played with those two. Both got better after they left because they were allowed to lead.

Amare keeps his mouth shut. He is great in this community. He works his ass off to become a better player. He is the 1 player who has had to change his game most because of Shaq and other moves. BUt nothing will be good enough for imbiciles like you.

Our shooting was off tonight, after the first quarter we weren't the same offensively. We still hung in there and won it. Pretty good win.

Thank you.

This team has a ton of flaws. Every single player on this team, HAS A LOT OF FLAWS. I guess no one else saw Jason Richardson getting absolutely taken to town by RONALD FREAKIN MURRAY? No one else noticed him yell "Ole!" as he opened up the baseline for Flip to drive by and dunk?

Amare gets it the worst, but Barbosa is right there with him when he doesn't play well. It gets really old, really fast.

I feel bad for Nash, J-Rich, and Amare, all of those guys on the defensive end. They're just bad defenders, but they have the misfortune of playing on a team full of other bad defenders (outside of Hill who amazes me every night), and they are obviously just TERRBILY coached on that end, especially at the end of games, and it makes them look even worse. We just have a huge recipe for disaster on that end with our collection of players.

If Amare played for the Hornets you wouldn't hear a thing about him, or for the Jazz, just like you don't hear anything about Boozer or West even though both of those guys are just monstrously bad defenders. And West is much more pathetic on the boards than Amare somehow.

If Nash played for the Spurs people wouldn't ride his D so bad. It's bad, yeah, but he plays that end as hard as he can (most of the time) and draws charges. He just doesn't have Tim Duncan backing him up, he has Shaq "What's pick and roll defense?" O'neal and Amare "Wait, where did my man go?" Stoudemire.

Just a bad situation.

Porter is to blame for the problem we had this game.

- Barnes and Lou with 3 TOs each, that's not acceptible. Both should be strictly playing the roles of Bowen and Bo. Posting up Lou even if it's mismatch is not good idea!
- Rotation plans! With Shaq and 2nd unit, don't run unless clear fastbreak off a steal or long reb. And in start of 4th, Amare and bunch were doing OK, yet he put Shaq back at 8'30 mark who was tired and ineffective while Amare were not used on offense who rested so long in the 3rd. He should have let Nash-Amare play their two-man game for a while before getting more rest for Shaq. Later, we won the game by going back to that: Nash big 3 off Amare rolling to basket, and Amare big close-range shot after screening with Nash.

I couldn't watch, so i went over for play-by-play. It looks very much like a sure win. We were leading most of the game.

Take it easy people, a routine regular season game against a very good opponent, won it, have rest now.

I am. People on this board go overboard. They point out every little mistake he makes. They are LOOKING for him to mess up. You dont see the same with other players.

Amare 17/5/5 with 3 blocks, good % so far but people will hate because of a couple mistakes.

not people. one troll. where is the Ignore function when I finally wish to make use of it! anyone knows?

I'm beginning to think that Amare is just wired to be a scorer and thats it.
Thats not a bad thing...a 6'10" scorer.
It is frustrating watching him get outhustled on the other end of the floor though.

I think you're right. I just hate the fact that he has the ability to be the best power forward in the history of the league, but his heart just isn't in it. If Amare would put half as much effort into defense and rebounding as Barnes or Amundson do, he would be THE best player in the league.

I want him to be the MVP, I want him to be up there with Kobe, Lebron, DHoward and Wade. I know he can do it, and it just kills me when I watch him put no effort into defense and rebounding.

Barbosa played 23 minutes, which is about what he has been playing the last few games and right on his season average, which in turn is around 7 minutes less than last year. I think given how well he's been playing lately he should be playing more, especially since we are using a short rotation. In past seasons, we used a short rotation, but our primary two guys off the bench (Barbs, Diaw) often played starter's minutes. Now our starters are playing more (Nash 36 minutes tonight, Hill 35, O'Neal 40).

About the people getting upset over the Amare "bashing" going on in this thread. Unless every single Amare basher are the posters on every other Suns message board I'd get used to hearing it. They're all saying the same thing. He's a poor defender, he's lazy, and he only cares about putting the ball in the hoop. All those things don't add up to the kind of player you want to build your franchise around.

Me? I haven't made up my mind but if you go to any other message board phxsuns.net, espn.com suns board, realgm, suns talk, they are all saying the exact same thing. The people giving Amare a pass on his play are in the vast minority here.
