That contract was just too insane unless HB played at a DPOY level, which seems like a real stretch. It's why you don't sign guys based on emotion.

This is the second of Keim's third round "finds" to move on already this year. Without those, his draft resume starts looking super rough.

I wouldn't be surprised if he winds up in Seattle.

Also, could see Ravens or Steelers come calling.

Normally side with players but if there was one that owed us it’s him. Taking him in 3rd, providing support and contract after multiple injuries.

Veldheer almost retired last year. This and not getting Norwell (if we tried) might have pushed decisions this way.

How much cap relief does him and Veldheer provide? And what FA are even worth going after that necessitated cutting them?

More holes created. I know this has probably been outlined loads before, but what is the cap saving and cap hit on both these releases?

Damn, hate to see this happen but completely understand it. Was a shell of the player he was prior to injury and not worth the price tag. Wish him the best and hate to see him go.

4.8 savings with 9 mil in dead money this year. Could've spread it to 2019.

Yep, Keim is in rebuild mode.

Bigger surprise is keeping Iupati, but it's slim pickings in FA.

Thought they would keep him as he is a road grader for the running game. Veldi’s retirement doomed him. They have someone not on the current roster in mind.

Wasn’t he starting to come good towards the end of the season? Maybe another Campbell on our hands??

According to spotrac, if we take Mathieu's hit now (non june 1st cut), cut Veldheer, and Bradford's cap hit is 15mill this season, and we omit Glennon, we have 17 mill cap space.

This is still with Buccannon's ~8mill cap hold. Not sure if draft picks included.

Did they confirm he's not a June 1st designation? If he is, the savings is $11 million this year.
