yeah... i've got this bad feeling he ain't coming here. personally, I don't get him going to Denver... or Miami for that matter, but I'm sure most people outside AZ are probably saying the same thing about us.

He just followed that up with another tweet saying PM just contacted Denver tonight. Oh well it was a nice thought while it lasted. Hell of a job Wiz and MB you gave it your all and almost got him.

If he contacted Denver tonight we couldn't have made that good of an impression.

Really? Maybe he called to say "Goodnight." Or "Go suck it!" This doesn't mean much without more information.

Though, I just want this to be over.

 Nothing more we could have asked for. Hell of a job being one of two teams that he talked too.

Granted I'm biased, but regardless of how it works out, I think the Cards have been more professional about the whole process. Not one leak. Broncos yak-yak-yaking the whole time he's visiting with us.

I don't want to sound biased because I'm a Card fan. But I just don't get why Broncos is a better choice than us for Manning...

Not a better choice but an interesting option.

AFC, John Fox and John Elway.

The Cardinals biggest weakness (other than QB) is an offensive line that arguably hasn't really improved under Ken Whisenhunt and Russ Grimm. With THREE positions unsettled entering the offseason, you have to question what the plan is.

Schefter says the Broncos are still the favorites to land Manning, and the Cards are in contention. That seems to be the general consensus among the media. I realize they could all be wrong, but I have to admit my hopes are kind of fading on this one.

The Cardinals are still perceived as a laughing stock of a franchise, so most media sources are gonna "pick" Denver as the team they are "hearing" as the favorite to land PM.....

That's because it is what the media wants. Not necessarily reality.

Of course, Shefter is the former Broncos beat writer, not that there's anything wrong with that. ;)

My perception and biggest concern is that - when prospective FA's visit the Cardinals and then leave - they seldom if ever come back to sign with us.

Regarding Denver - it's the most volatile team starting QB-wise in the NFL.

If they're willing to sing Orton's praises, then throw him under the bus in favor a rookie (Tebow) and - after all the Tebow-hype - throw Tebow under the bus in order to sign Manning: If I were Peyton, I'd be unimpressed by Management's loyalty; figuring that "if they can do it to Orton and Tebow, they can do it to me."

(At least Kolb's concussion history and the Cards' low QB-Rating this past year provide us with a valid excuse).

Can't see why PM would want to compete with the Elway legacy at this point in his career or being seen as in league with the anti-Christ by some for displacing Tebow.

If he wants a minimum of outside distractions, as seems evident in deciding not to consider New York or Washington, then AZ is Indy with better weather.

This is sad but I will say this.2 months ago...the Jets were leading... 3 weeks ago...Washington and Miami were the leading candidates...and we all thought Arizona has a good shot. 1 week ago everyone thought Seattle and Kansas CIty were going to be big time players and they didn't even get a shot.

The 1 team that has made it from 2 months ago to now is Arizona...That has to mean something.

I just don't understand him going to Denver at all. I mean it makes no sense. Reasons why. 1)The weather is terrible. 2) Their defense is overrated. Look at their last 9 games...they played 7 teams in the bottom half in offense. The 1 team they played who is good..The Patriots...They were torched for almost 100 points, 1000 yards passing and 10 TD's by Tom Brady. (Would Manning be happy about that?) 3)They have no WR's at all...In fact the Denver Broncos dropped more passes in the NFL. 4)They have to revamp their offense completely again....not that easy when the offense was geared to running 50 times. 5)The AFC is much tougher the Bronocs would have to get by much tougher defenses....Baltimore, Jets, Steelers, Texans.... 6)WHy in the world would Manning who is an all time great want to play in Denver where Elway is God. 7)Tebow is HUGE in Denver...Yes Denver fans will come watch Manning but I really think they lose fans because of Tebow. I mean I think that will cause issues among the fans. They have proven a decent passing QB stinks in Denver....Cutler failed, Orton failed, but Tebow flourished.

I can't believe Manning wouldn't want to throw to Fitzgerald and Wayne in a beautiful 72 degree stadium????

FYI everyone, Miami was clear and away the winner for a week, then he doesnt even visit them. Not suddenly denver is clear and away the winner? lets not over analyze guessing games.

He still might go talk to Miami and may have saved them for last for a reason? Just a look see befor he sings there or not? I hope he never goes if he does I think he stays.

ESPN is full of crap in this Manning situation. First it was Miami as the favorites, then Kansas City, then Miami again. Denver wasn't even considered an option until they found out he was meeting with them. Arizona was listed as about 4th or 5th of possible suitors before this all started. Now we're top 2. He isn't even meeting with any of the teams they originally had in front of us. Their "sources" are non-existent. Only Peyton knows where he wants to go and he probably already knew months ago. He's far too much a football strategist to just now be considering his options.

lol... peyton doesn't have to compete with ANYONE's legacy. the guy is already a legend and it would shock me if he felt any heat from Elway.
