I was at this game tonight and I noticed that Mike James can be a bit of a black hole. More than once, I caught him shooting early in the clock with teammates open.

That's the Mike James that had me pulling my hair out all through Summer League. Infuriating floor leader. The frustrating part is that for the first few games after Bledsoe was sent home he showed how much better he can be when he doesn't hog the ball. He has the ability to be a good pass-first point guard but is not good enough to be a primary scorer in the NBA. Unfortunately, it seems he thinks of himself as the latter.

Also, if we had if we had at least three more people with Dudley's hustle out there, we'd be 7 and 4, instead of 4 and 7.

Dudley needs to be dealt with Chandler. They can help some other team...a team that has a shot at something.

James is a SG disguised as a PG. He can bring something to the table (quick points off the bench when hot) but he is not the type player to run a team.

Players playing out of position makes me crazy. Especially with points. You can see how Dragic can run a team by playing his strength which is the point. Having him play SG with Bled was the worst mistake this team has made. I would love to have Goran back as our #1 PG. That will never happen but dreamings free.

In retrospect, the Suns should never have shown Bledsoe the money and let him walk earlier in his career.

It seems like a lot of the Suns other moves were trying to make guards fit around Bledsoe. The Suns had this fascination with playing two PGs in the backcourt which has really set them back.

Just now... the foul that Chriss committed against Whiteside in the closing minute, happened because Len, as usual, wandered into no mans land... left his man, but still didn't cut off the ball handler, leaving Whiteside alone under the basket.

He does this all... the... freaking... time. His defensive instincts are absolutely dreadful. What little rim protection he provides is totally invalidated by the... I would guess... 10 times per game (not trying to exaggerate, I'd guess it is once every other minute he plays) he completely whiffs his defensive assignment leading to an uncontested basket.

Agree about Len... and I also have serious concerns about Chriss... I know he's still so young, but I am not at all sold on his and his ability to develop into something of meaningful value.

Completely agree. Dragic isn't necessarily a pure point guard, but he can certainly run a team better than Bledsoe. Not only did we make him play second fiddle to Bledsoe following his selection to an all-NBA third team, we also brought in IT so Dragic was demoted to the third ball-handler and reduced to standing in the corner waiting for someone to pass him the ball while Bledsoe and IT played hero-ball instead of running the team.

We played the best ball we have in 7 years with Bledsoe at point and Dragic at SG, that team was significantly worse when Bledsoe went down, it was not even comparable.

The biggest reason that all fell apart was because Dragic was a selfish turd.

HE kinda reminds me of James Edwards for all you old timers. Always put up good stats. Never really thought of much though. But became a key part of some very good teams.
Alvan Adams put up stats, too, but James Edwards was a big body and a good defender at Center. But, like Adams, he played offense a long way from the basket.

If MacLeod were not Coach, it would not have been the case but, for James Edwards, that is the way it was. That is why he was not thought of much, as you said. It was up to our Power Forwards to fight opposing Centers for offensive rebounds.

Did it get us into the playoffs? It is sad that the mantra of some Suns fans is 'We aspire to be not so bad.'

And that Sarver doesn't give a crap about building a winner as long as he makes money.

We won 48 games, we only missed the playoffs because Bledsoe got hurt and the team tumbled out of the top 8 with Dragic running the show.

There were so many things that when unusually well that year. Gerald Geeen played out of his mind sinking many winning shots.

All this talk about Knight coming back and contributing in any meaningful way is revisionist history.

That guy sucks.

I'm okay with Dudley getting minutes at this stage. He leads by example. Hustle, effort, he moves and passes. Chriss, Bender, Jackson and company must be stupid not to get the message. There's enough minutes for all four for now. Besides he might keep us close in more games.

Amen to that. Hope he never puts on the Suns jersey again. Trade or cut him. Guy is on his own. He would only make us worse.

According to an interview I heard McD talkiing about Knight, he expects him to be back next season and contribute. Im sure he wants him to play well to raise his value.

As long as Knight does not expect to play PG I'm okay with it if he has a good attitude.

Knight is a better PG than Mike James. I wouldn't be against him getting a shot at playing PG but I don't think he should be pencilled in as our starting or backup PG. I hope we hire a good head coach that can get through to him and explain what the team needs from the starting PG and if Knight can't meet those expectations then he won't see any time there. We need a distributor first and Knight specifically needs to quit taking those awful shots 1-2 feet inside the 3 point line.
