I tell you what. The first time the Cardinals face a third and seven and Murray takes off and ducks out of bounds for eight yards, being anti Murray will be influx... the first time he rolls out and hits a WR for fifty yards downfield, nobody is going to care for somebody saying "you made me eat crow", which he will do more than once :)
That pass he threw on the run, against Alabama off one foot for like 60 yds should at the very least show naysayers he definitely has talent. It was right where it had to be in the WR's hands. I love the fact he can run like a deer, that will make DC's have nightmares lol. I fear for him getting hurt being so small. Maybe he can be one of those players that has a knack for knowing how to not get hit? That being said, hits can come unexpected, just ask JR lol. Hopefully our OL is world's better this yr than last?

Hated the pick but will continue to be a lifelong Cards fan. They have made many picks over the years I hated. This just goes with the rest of them.
Overall though, with drafting KM, I think they drafted very well according to the direction offensively they wanna go. Added some pieces on defense via FA & the draft.

How about the first time Murray breaks containment, and finds a wide open DJ with no one within 15 yards of him?

That is another really awesome aspect of Murray's game, is that he is deadly accurate while on the move. Lethal. It's uncanny.

Some say "well yeah, he was throwing to wide open receivers a lot of the time".

They were correct, because he would evade a rusher, the pass coverage would break down, and he would deliver a laser beam to an OU receiver running free twenty yards downfield.

"Touchdown Oklahoma" will now be "Touchdown Arizona".
People say "but he was wide open" there's a reason for that. It's called the "Air Raid" offense, it's designed to get WR's & TE's wide open & works even better when the players wide open have talent. We upgraded that talent through the draft imo. One last thing, having a RB that can catch passes makes it even more effective. I've seen this offense up close when Hal Mumme brought it to Kentucky in 1996. Bob Stoops saw enough of it at Florida while defending it as Steve Spurriers OC, he brought Mike Leach from Kentucky with him the next yr at Oklahoma to run it. That's how it all got started in the Big 12 conference. Mike Leach put up Nintendo numbers that 1st yr running it at Oklahoma so Texas Tech liked what they saw & hired Leach the next yr. Then KK learned it playing QB there. We know the rest of this story.

I liked all the draft picks except Murray.I several will contribute this coming season and even the projects seem like good choices to develop for the future.

Mumme was a scumbag.Hated that jackass. As much as I hate UKentucky I really felt sorry for Tim Couch and the mess he went to in Cleveland. I don`t think he ever really recovered from that debacle.

I'm sure you do being a UofL fan lol. His offenses did score but he never had an elite defense or DC. When he finally brought in a good one (John Goodner) the dude developed brain cancer & passed away. Wouldn't have mattered anyways because Claude Bassett had already sealed Mummes fait by committing all those recruiting violations. Tim Couch imo would've had a HOF like career had he went to a good team? He had a golden arm, too bad the Browns didn't care enough about him to get him a good OL. Took too many hits & it messed his Labrum up, he was done after that. Tried to make a comeback in Green Bay but his arm was shot.

I remember him trying to comeback with the Packers. Those beatings he took in Cleveland just killed him.I t was beyond dumb to draft a Qb #1 and for the Browns to not make a better effort to protect their investment in him was insane.

I am happy to have him, and could care less that he is here instead of Rosen.

My concern is the direction of the team, his ability to stay healthy in the NFL, and the system consistently working in the NFL.

For me it has never been about Rosen the person/player vs. Murray the person/player.

It has been more about how the Cardinals have been going about building the team, and questions about the move to the current system and the vast amount of resources that were given up to get there.

Now that Mr. Murray is the QB, it is the same situation as any other rookie QB, same as Rosen last year. Does his skills translate to the NFL ?

Of course I hope they do, and Murray stays healthy. Again, I will state, I wanted Lamar Jackson last year for the same reasons we know have Murray. Not to mention Murray is a better passer and a better runner.

Thus more system and methodology than players.

I understand your feelings on Murray I really do but I'm excited for his potential. I hope he is electric like many people do? He is talented for sure. I agree with you on the WR's this yr, they will definitely contribute. The Air Raid requires rotating WR's because of so many routes, they get winded plus there's 4 of them out there at all times. They will need at least 8 on the roster. I have the Sunday ticket at home on Directv to watch the cardinals games, but occasionally go out to a sports bar for big games. I think you live in Olham County but if you ever wanna meet up & watch a cardinals game in Louisville just hit me up on here?

That's basically a write-in for "Don't feel 1 way or the other, but do wonder what he would look like in a silky negligee."

Duly noted.

Hah, I am just tired of picking sides on our players. I am going to wait til they succeed or fail on the field before I criticize or praise.

I will certainly hold Murray to the same standard I held Rosen too as well.

I know lots of sports bars here in Louisville with really good food, you don't have to drink, just eat & watch our cards. I drink beer but don't get stupid drunk like a lot of the loudmouth idiots do. Hit me up.

I think that's pretty fair Cardsfankinlouky.

I agree with everyone who's stated that the KK hire is quite the leap of faith.

But one thing that I'm pretty confident about is that we'll see some above average offensive schemes, and some above average play calling in 2019.

KK was a dangerous offensive game planner for TT. in his last three years at Tech, KK's offenses were ranked 2nd, 23rd, and 12th in the nation.

That's at a school that is in god forsaken West Texas. How you could get any kid, let alone a talented football player, to spend three or four years voluntarily in lubbock is beyond me.

Wanted Bosa, would’ve been fine with Q... I’m excited to see KM but people are going to need to be a lot more patient with him than they think.

Unfortunately, patience is a hard thing to ask for, from a lot of different people, and areas in the football universe after ditching your 1st round, Top-10 QB draft pick from last year, after one season.

This is understood by many.

The missing part of this breakdown, is that the players on the other side of the ball defending against the offense are much more talented as well.

The offense may work better when the wide open players have talent, but how well does it work when what was once "wide open" is only "NFL" wide open ?

There in lies the question, and what we will all find out.

I think we made a good choice.
I think QB’s that can run are a HUGE advantage. Trust me, defenses are going to wear down fast chasing this guy around.
I hope we let him do what he’s good at and that’s using his legs to make things happen. I predict our leadership will do that.
Welcome to the team.
Go Cards!

A lot of people seem to be forgetting that the other side of the ball (the defense) has a lot of talent there too and as Rugby stated wide open in college is a lot different than wide open where the big boys play. They also seem to forget that defense is pretty much an after thought in the Big 12. In the draft only two secondary players (both CBs) got drafted from the Big 12 and they went in the 6th and 7th round. There was a reason Murray's WRs got open so easily. Only one Big 12 defender went in the first round at #29 and then none until the fifth round in a draft that was loaded with good defensive players.

Although I wasnt going to say anything I just have to the Cards have changed the bars here really badly IMHO instead of 2 or 3 and we will see it's now 1 and done if there isnt a marked improvement it could be a rather tough few years in regards to finding a head coach if and when KK leaves knowing that's all the time they have to turn things around

The team will have to be really bad to get fired after 1 season. He would also have to be pretty horrible to not be better than the last coach.

Not saying they will mind ya just that the Cards are REALLY ALL IN THIS TIME will be very little room for error and absolutely the situation last year had to be fixed just don't know that it is.
Time and the games will tell that.
