I now believe that how a team plays depends who's under center. It seems like the team played their hearts out Sunday for Skelton. They played harder, with more energy. The defense looked as good as they have in a long time. The line got pressure on the QB forcing him into some bad throws and the secondary was very affective. On offense, the line played like we thought they were capable of giving up zero sacks an opening up holes for the running game, especially in the 2nd half. The team that played this Sunday looked like a 180 degree different team than the one who played Monday night against SF. If we played like this all season long, we'd be sitting in 1st at 8-5 at worst right now.

I also believe that the sky is blue, and that eclipses are caused by the moon passing in front of the sun, or the earth casting its shadow over the moon.

But I think that Sunday's game was more a reflection of the Cards playing a team that is even more talent-poor and demoralized than we are. That Denver unit isn't playing for anything.

I think it has more to do with making plays early in the game. This team remains mentally soft; if something bad happens in the first quarter, they're more likely to fold up the tents and move on than to try and battle back. We'll see what happens in two weeks when we play a team that has been working on pride and putting up a fight against very good teams.

The Panthers are more talented than the Broncos. So Skelton is ramping up the level of competition every week. But I don't think that this team believes in Skelton any more than they believed in Max Hall. I think that Skelton just hasn't had failures yet. We'll see what happens when he has to overcome some adversity, and how the team responds.

QB is everything.

We stumbled on one by accident. Other than that never made any real effort to get a franchise QB.

29 runs helped

29 run attempts help, I aint backing off Beanie first and THT 2nd, I think its the right way to maximise our talent.

I aint backing off Whiz is silly for not running early, that is why we are behind no matter whos QB.

The 450 pass attempts to 260 rush attempts is fundementally broken play calling. it is misuse if not abuse of our talent, We have bad QB play during that whole stretch called the 2010 season.

I hope Whiz relizes and acts right. those rush numbers are even less if you really look at it, I bet 50% were from passing formations.

THT busting long runs is great, keep it up!

It isn't just that. Yes we were playing a bad team but we played a bad team when we played SF with Troy Smith at the helm. And the Rams aren't exactly world beaters and we looked like crap against both of them. The Sf game was as low a game I've seen this team play in a while. At least when we were blown out at Atlanta and SD, those were superior teams. The 9ers aren't either of those teams by a long shot. But we looked beaten before the opening kickoff.

Look, I'm about as critical of this team, probably more so, than anyone else. But this team just looked different Sunday. And I liked what I saw.

Well we know you count Josh McCown as a franchise QB so your opinion means nothing to me on this topic. You truely deserve the cardinals past history lol
You are wrong again friend, The leen-eart was our attempt/EFFORT IMO.

Who's Shaun King?:biglaugh:

The guy John Navarre started over.

BTW, Didn't we move up in the draft in order to get John Skelton ?

It think that counts as "effort" to obtain said QB. Whether he is a "franchise" QB is yet to be seen.

I think the Cardinals have put in effort to obtain said franchise QB, but the effort resulted in doodly squat.

Thus why Shaun King, John Navarre, Jeff Blake, Preston Parsons, etc., etc even are mentioned in this forum.

I think that there are two options to settle this pissing match between SWD and Desertdawg:

Cage Fight

or

A Jeopardy style, Cardinals Knowledge Bowl between the two!

Who wants to moderate?

Stick with football K9. That's not an eclipse, it's simply the phases of the moon. :p

No, the phases of the moon are the result of the orbit of the moon around the earth. A solar eclipse is when the moon passes between the earth and the sun, and a lunar eclipse is when the shadow of the earth casts itself over the moon. You'll be able to see one on Dec 21st: http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/LEplot/LEplot2001/LE2010Dec21T.pdf

Neither is a dragon eating either the sun or the moon. I know, because I went to Space Camp when I was in 5th grade and took AST101 my freshman year in college. :D

The 49ers are better than the Broncos, and so are the Rams. Neither are the Chargers or Falcons, but the Broncos are garbage. They're worse than garbage; they're garbage that has given up.

And division games are different. In a division game, even a weak team can rise up and punk a superior squad.

Add 3 more to the list, starting with #7. (I would have rather had #7 or King this year, that says a lot)

Don't be so quick to throw Skeletor under the bus K-9. That Denver team beat a decent Chief's team mercilessly in Denver about a month ago, and then went into Arrowhead and played them very tough before losing in a close one. Those were t he same Chiefs that whipped us badly in our own house just the Sunday before Thanksgiving. There is some talent in Denver, and how it has been used, (sound familiar), has had more than a little to do with how it has played.

I'm not throwing Skeletor under the bus. But I'm not going to say that he's the reason we won the Denver game any more than Max Hall was the reason we won the New Orleans game.

Denver is a bad football team. If they weren't a bad football team, the head coach wouldn't have been fired last Tuesday. Give me a break, CF.

Kyle Orton was 9 of 28 for 117 yards the week before against KC. Very strong performance there.

yes

Were still alive, all 4 NFCW teams are still alive in the playoffs.

Skelton is not the reason we lost so many, I'm sure of that.

thats all I have to hang my hat on. passing to much is what I blame our 4-9 record on, regardless of whos under center. Even Matt Leinart would have failed under Whiz's circumstances.

Technically, but not only would the next two games have to fall just right for us, the 'hawks and the rams, but the 'hawks and rams would have to tie in the final game.

Don't get your hopes up.

Before I get back to work....I have been saying this all along (duh big deal!!)
No doubt about it. Hopefully he can build on this with the "perfect" opportunity next game. The NFL Sun rises and sets on quarterbacks...nothing more need be said. It is the most vital and important position in sports and real good ones are RELATIVELY as rare as hens teeth...just ask the Vikings. How fortunate the Eagles were in what they did, eh? For those of you across the Walt Whitman bridge....and I know who you are.....now ya' also pulled another coupe...Hammels, Halliday, Oswalt and Lee...let's just start the 2011 football season and skip baseball

Back to work.
