If you and azdad end up in Yuma for an ether-fight, can I be the special-guest referee? I wanted to stay at the "UFO Motel" just once...or is that Gila Bend?

Do you watch the Cardinals? Do you have selctive amnesia in order to support your arguments. Boston had one season of 1157 yards and then followed it up with a 1600 yard season and then was on pace for another 1000 yard season, even though he was playing innured the enitre season (a knee that had begun giving him problems in training camp).

I have moved on from Boston - do I think it's another colossal blunder on the Cards part not being able to hold on talent (or making talent like that believe in the program so "character" issues don't come up, ala Simeon Rice). Yes I do. What bothers me is continual arguments made by people here that either completely disregard the facts because they do not support what they say, or make ridiculous comments about guys (Boldin) that most likely most of the people on this board only saw play a handful of times (at best - especially considering how bad FSU was this year and their lack of TV exposure) but champion as the greatest thing since sliced bread just because they are the Cardinals and a couple nice things have been said about him by outside pundits. Yet it's funny that these same pundits who baslted us for the Pace pick are clueless, or they "hate" the Cardinals (guys - no one hates the Cards - to hate people would have to at some level care about us)

How much do you want to make a bet, that if the Bengals or someother team similar to us had drafted Pace as high as we did, that we would be crucifying them? I am just bothered by a lack
of consistency of arguments on this board.

Last time I remember is, this is the Cardinals. What do you expect? We keep our good players and not reload in the draft? That's the Cards History. Every posters knows that, Bidwill won't offer a contract to a player that's involve with the law. Is this a good deal or a bad deal who Cares. Cause i don't care since he's not a Cardinal anymore. Like I said before I want him to consistently put up numbers for the next couple of years not in spurt to be justified a huge contract. My opinion. Yeah Boldin has a knee history but there are players that got drafted who has history problems but they turn out good. Corey Simon and Duece McAllister has history problems but they turn out to be a good player. If you moved on why are you still sensitive and gripping about this subject?

Nah I'm not a violent person. I'm just a die hard fan.

It's not this subject - it's the lack of consistency or objectivity in a wide range of discussions, more often made in the Boston arguments, as well as the Graves arguments, that bother me. And I respond to arguments that IMO opinion don't make sense. Regardless, your opinion is different than mine - so be it.

Then the 'roid talk started. It's just a shame that hard work doesn't pay off in most people's eyes. When people would ask if I did do them, I always answered "No. Because I like my nuts too much." and walk away. So, not all size is influenced. I'm not saying that some do or don't do it, but give people the benefit of the doubt.

Oh, and a little confirmation on the size puts strains on the knees, ankles, and feet. I torn my Achillies tendon playing flag football. I tore it just taking a step out of the huddle. Yes. I believe that the injury was due to my upper body size. At the time I weighed 225. Going from 145 to 225 within six years puts wear and tear on a body. So we will see how this new mass helps or hurts Mr. Boston. But you'd think he would understand that just about every WR is lean and fast. That's how to be successful.

depends on what you mean about "lean and fast." most of the pros are actually pretty huge in person. they may not look it on the field, but they're huge. i've partied with vance johnson a few times (years ago) and he had huge guns. i don't know if y'all remember him (part of the three amigos in denver), but his game was predicated on speed.

cheesebeef is looking for logical arguments from Cards fans? Jeez, if we were logical, no one would be here! :D

Here's how it works:

1. Being a Cards fan is not logical.

2. cheesebeef is a Cards fan.

3. cheesebeef is not logical.

Just an example!

Boston showed us one year, one year doesn't make him a superstar caliber. I don't care if God throws the ball to him as long as he can produce 1000 yards receiving for the next 5 years like Harrison is, then I can say he has arrived.

um, know your facts before you put your foot in your mouth. that 1100 yard season beef was talking about was two years ago. boston followed that up with a 1500+ season. he was also on track for 1000+ yards before injuring himself. he was fairly proven in my book. and MILES ahead of anyone on our current roster.

I'm a season ticket holder for 6 years now. Does that answer your question?

really it only raises more questions. such as:

what were you doing when you were missing all the games that boston racked up huge numbers the previous two seasons?

I didn't put my foot in my mouth O-Z-C. That was my mistake. Am I denying my mistake? No. But my opinion is he only put up 2 productive years for him to be justified a huge contract.

that's fair. but i also think that's the sign of the times in the nfl today. have two successful years and it's time for the huge contract.

also, sorry if my replies were inflammatory. not meant to be so.

I think part of the problem was the two patella tendon tears, the lisfranc injury, and probably the worst one yet... arthritis. The arthritis in his knees went back a couple of seasons. The training camp reports seemed to be getting worse the last couple of July's until finally last season they were discussion surgery for it once he started working in camp.
He was good. When he was on he was unguardable.

He did have 10 drops in eight games, but Harrison had 16 in 16 games.

if need be, i am, and have been. but really, we just REALLY think a lot alike in terms of the cards. it's a scary family trait. pops and bro #3 are similar too. frightening. i actually responded to your posts before reading his responses.

Well, I remember my High school years (only 3 years ago) and on my Wrestling team there was about 10 guys out of 40 that were using roids, and the coaches pretty much just looked the other way. Thats just a sport on the HS level, so imagine how many pro athletes must be taking them, probably a lot more than 1 in 4 as was the case on my wrestling team. Also, when these guys hit the NFL, they should pretty much be as big as they are going to get. They may add 10 or even 20 pounds cleanly, but when a guy gets MUCH MUCH bigger than he was in college in such a short period of time, then it should raise some eyebrows.

when the plummer to boston duo was at its best - in my opinion - was when jake would lob up his usual underthrown passes..and boston would make excellent adjustments ..and in many cases knock the defensive back out of the way...and catch the ball..

In some ways..jake and boston were made for each other early in their careers...you could count on jake to underthrow..and you could count on boston to shove whatever skinny defensive back was in his way out of the play...

Boston may still enjoy this type of situation with drew brees as the qb...and he has gotten bigger and should be better at it...

I do not think a jeff blake to boston would be that great of a combination...blake throws bullets and if anything overthrows the ball.. I think boston could struggle in this type of situation - but we will never know....

from what we have seen so far from blake...I would speculate they (boston and blake) may not become best friends if they were on the same team..blake is an in your face guy..could you see him ripping boston a new one!

Like someone mentioned in another post, I don't see how there is any way that Boston can carry around that much weight and stay injury-free. His lower body is going to break down, it is almost a certainty. Once he ends up on IR, the Cardinals are going to look a lot smarter.
