Leinart led them to 10 points. Big whoop.
number1.gif

10 points, no turnovers and 100 QB rating. With a QB rating, he'd be a top 5 QB in this league right now.

Just sayin'

Not by you though. :D

Let's keep talking about it. WR lined up in the wrong spot when the QB calls it is on the WR at first, not the QB. The QB options at this point (if the play clock are low) are to call the play anyway, call timeout, or take a delay of game.

Out of these 3 scenarios, calling the play anyway could be the best course of action depending on circumstance.

That single play call was so blown out of proportion; I think it helped his agenda in regards to cutting Matt.
Was the playclock low? Could Matt have said, hey you, get over there?

Or did Matt already know he was checking down anyway? :)

First off it wasnt a single play it was happening to much and in more than one game according to whiz. The appropriate think to do like I have seen DA do is point the correct position to the WR and have them correct it before the clock runs out. If you can't do that then you take a time out. Simple. You dont run a play doomed due to wrong positioning especially when this is all based on location and timing.

that's right. just pick one stat in one game, and extrapolate it over a season in an attempt to show he's good. i can do the opposite:

with just 10 points a game he'd be sitting the bench in this league right now (oh, that's what he's doing).

i don't think a single one of us can say this team "is way better off with leinart at QB." i think THAT's an ignorant statement.

Of course we can say that. We're comparing against Derek freakin Andreson and 2 green gilled rooks. To ignore that facet of the argument is the ignorant angle. We'd be better off with almost any other QB in the league. We scored 6 freaking points against St. Louis at home, what more can you say?

88.1 rating actually.

Weren't the Titans bottom 5 in defense or something like that? I seem to remember Leinart getting extremely lucky with some throws that should've been picked off most notably Nick Harper(?) mistiming his jump on the underthrown pass to Beanie and Keith Bulluck dropping a sure INT.

I don't care anymore anyway, I just want a QB. :bang:

Yea that game where he only managed to put a total of 10 points on the board and had to run a simpler dumbed down game plan? Yup he still didn't know the playbook like he should even by then in year 3.

:iwin:

He was running plays in the game that he NEVER ran in practice(that is on the coach & preparation not on the QB). That was talked about too, Warner took all the starters snaps in practice that week. He was a gametime decision.

But whatever...Leinart is gone, back to looking for our QBOF again pretty much like we've done since Lomax went down...a brief blip during Plummers early years and a couple of years with Warner notwithstanding.

19 of 23 for 161 yards (7.0 YPA), 1 TD, 0 INT, QB rating of 110.3 in the preseason

110 rating actually. I was selling him short. :)

I think Whiz thought Leinart was gunshy, but he is too nice to say it publically. Too bad he went with DA, who is the most gunshy I have ever seen and NFL QB.

(the term gunshy does not equate the NFL with war.)

10 points would be a 66% improvement over what this 3 header turnover monster produced yesterday (against a defense that has been shredded many times this year I may add).

Who is talking about the preseason?

Look at Aaron Rodgers preseason numbers for a real eLiTe qB.

That right there is the only issue I see with Matt....he plays to protect the stat line, at least it looks that way...
At some point, a QB just has to say **** it and play ball, toss the rock fifty yards down field and see what happens. Even if most are incomplete the long passes keep the defense honest,...otherwise they just keep getting tighter and tighter on you..... Heck, even if you get some picks,....at fifty yards down field on third and ten,...a pick is as good as a punt.
You want to protect the ball, but you cannot play the game with that as your main objective.

What pick one stat like you clowns who keep saying he led us only to 10 points. Go back and check the record Tenn was on a ROLL and had won 4 in a row on their way of winning 8 of thier last 10. And we go in with Leinart at the helm who DID NOT get the starters snaps all week cause Warner still took them as he were going to play and at the last minute did not. So with backup snaps playing a team on fire he almost led us to a win if not for a total defensive collapse and a last second touchdown. Your freaking delusional if you think that guy doesn't make a WORLD of difference in this pathetic bunch of QB's we have right now! Max Hall should have hit the PS no one would have claimed him. Fact is Whiz had an agenda to get Leinart out from the get go as you can look back and see limited playing time, not playing the starters with him in, piss poor playcalling, and then points stuff like recievers not lining up properly as something Matt is at fault for... what a freaking joke. Whiz screwed Leinart and the FANS over with his moronic personal agenda to get Leinart out of here for personal reasons plain and simple. Believe what you want it will come out in time but to say its what was best for the team is crap as we have ALL seen so far with our glowing QB play thus far! I call it how I see it Whiz is not, NOT the super genuis think he is!

The Matt Leenart record as starter was 7 wins of 10 loses. The Dereek Andireson record starting cardinals is 2 wins of the 8 losses. Clearly, the Dirick Andreeson is not of the USC as The Matt Lainert is of the USC. Speaking of statistics, the Doreek Anburnson would need to play 3 and one of a half more seasons to match the total wins of the USC prodigee Mat Leenart.
