If he's there, Isaiah Simmons should be the no brainer pick.
DJ is going be the LT and I'm not drafting a RT in the top 10 unless he's head and shoulders the best player on the board which would not be the case if Simmons is available.
What position hurt the Cards defense the most, TE's. Simmons shuts that down from day 1. He can run, he can tackle, can rush the passer, etc.
Here's his strengths from Walter football:
Strengths:
- Sideline-to-sideline speed
- Excellent pass-coverage linebacker
- Can cover running backs, tight ends, receivers
- Rare cover skills for a linebacker; covers like a safety
- Has covered slot receivers in man-to-man
- Can run down the middle seam
- Sideline-to-sideline speed
- Superb at knowing when to fire off
- Is an enforcer in the middle of the field
- Never hesitates to get physical
- Covers a lot of ground in zone coverage
I think the defense could use a guy like this over a RT.
