Who are your top 3? BC at least three will go in top 10.

Offensive lineman?

1 Thomas
2 Wirfs
3 Willis

I think only Thomas goes top ten. Both Wirfs and Willis play RT and have been mentioned going to guard in the NFL. RT’s pretty much never go top ten.

RT/G in the NFL.

I know..... the kid has tools. I would just caution anyone that thinks these guys will all translate.

Wills is a proper NFL guard but has been playing RT for Bama. I prefer guards who play guard if you are going to draft them this high. Decastro, Nelson, or Martin. Or even (gulps hard) Cooper.

And keep in mind..... We saw tweets like this last year regarding Lamont Gaillard and what he did to Quinnen Williams in one game.

Only two OT's get me totally excited. Thomas (wont be there) and Jackson (too early but damn man).

If we needed a guard, Wills would be top of my list but honestly, I think we need a RT & a center first. Can Wills block Bosa or Fowler? I'm not so sure man.

Wirfs is solid and has Lane Johnson ability but who knows if he can get there. But his athleticism gives him a fighting chance IMO.

To me...... Where I am at is this. Thomas (safe) Wirfs (trained w/ upside) and Jackson (Mega ceiling but hella raw) are my favorite tackles in this draft.

Wills & Humphrey are my top interior linemen in this draft.

A Wirfs/Humphrey first and 2nd round would be sweet but improbable.

I respectfully disagree that three are top 10. I am thinking Wirfs may fall to 11.

Who would you knock out of the top ten to put 3 OT's in there?

Burrow
Young
Jeudy
Thomas
Okudah
Herbert
Brown
Simmons

That's 8 and we still haven't gotten to any OT's besides Thomas. And I excluded Wirfs, Lamb, & Tua.

If Tua checks out I think 100% he goes in the top ten and I think Lamb might go before Juedy

That was one game...there is another one that looks the same vs LSU...and one vs Georgia...Wills has clips for days of dominating top talent. Dude has smooth feet and great power but because he didn't unseat first round pick Jonah Williams at LT in Alabama people think he is a guard.

Here is a mock draft for you...

1-Bengals-Joe Burrow QB LSU
-Best QB in draft

2-Redskins-Chase Young EDGE Ohio St.
-Best player in draft

3-Lions-Derrick Brown DT Auburn
-Have a QB, have a CB, have WRs, have a LT

4-Giants-Jeffrey Okudah CB Ohio St.
-Paying Solder a ton, have a bunch of money wrapped in WRs, need a lock down CB

5-Dolphins-Andrew Thomas OT Georgia
-Need a LT to replace Tunsil and have other picks to land a QB

6-Jaguars-Tristan Wirfs OT Iowa
-Need to upgrade OT. Cam Robinson is garbage.

7-Chargers-Jordan Love QB Utah St
-Get Rivers replacement.

8-Panthers-Tua Tagovailoa QB Alabama
-I think Cam is done. Tua is huge in that region. Can be patient.

9-Cardinals-Jedrick Wills OT Alabama
-People are going to hate this pick but he is a physical presence in the run game and pass game. Cost offset for expensive o-line. If it goes like this, Jets may look to trade up ahead of Cardinals.

10-Jets-CeeDee Lamb WR Oklahoma
-Vertical player to replace Robby Anderson.

11-Broncos-Isaiah Simmons LB/S Clemson
-Big time chess piece for Fangio defense.

12-Browns-Jerry Jeudy WR Alabama
-Landy or OBJ or both are getting moved this off-season.

13-Falcons-Grant Delpit S LSU
-Keanu Neal hasn't worked out and the defense needs help

14-Raiders-AJ Epenesa DL Iowa
-Gruden and Mayock type dude for the defense.

15-Cowboys-Henry Ruggs III WR Alabama
-It is looking like Cooper may not be the lock that most thought. Ruggs has flash that Jerry likes.

16-Colts-Justin Herbert QB Oregon
-Brisset doesn't look like the guy.

17-Buccaneers-Kristian Fulton CB LSU
-Bucs need a better CB

18-Raiders-Trevon Diggs CB Alabama
-Physical CB who fits Gruden and Mayock

19-Dolphins-Javon Kinlaw DL South Carolina
-Building a dominant and cheap defensive front

20-Jaguars-Marvin Wilson DL Florida St.
-Need to rebuild the defense, and Dareus and Campbell will likely be cut leaving big holes.

lol...be ready for a receipt to be posted next year after this statement.

I didn’t say he was bad I’ve already said on this thread I think he’s a quality RT but I think he could be special at G.

it’s the position not the talent that’s why I say no to top ten

What about Wills makes you think he can't play RT?

How many titles does Adrian Peterson have? I think the same number as Levi Brown. Same as Fitzgerald. Same as a bunch of skill players who were on mostly bad teams with bad lines who could never protect their QB in big moments.
How many titles do a bunch of olinemen drafted in the top ten have? I’m sure it’s equivalent. I’m not against drafting olinemen. Im not against drafting them high. I’m not a fan mesmerized by skill positions in the draft. I’m a guy that’s staunchly against reaching for need in the top ten of the draft.

@Chopper0080

Is that your personal mock? Yes or no, it's highly questionable. Love before Tua or Herbert? Brown at 3? Jordan Love in the top 15? Oooof.

And anyone thinking that Jerry Jeudy isn't the #1 WR and a top 3 or 4 prospect in this entire draft makes me wonder about your sanity.

I have said a ton about Wills already. I like the kid and really think he can be a Will Hernandez level guard in the league. And drafting him to be a RT ahead of the best Tackle prospect on his own college team seems crazy to me. #KeimTime level stuff IMO.

Burrow, Young, Jeudy, Simmons, Thomas and probably Okudah will all be top 10 picks. Lock that in for draft time if you want.

Maybe I don't know jack......

PFF's newest mock has Wills going #4 to NY. And Wirfs going #9 to us.

  1. Burrow
  2. Young
  3. Okudah
  4. Wills
  5. Tua
  6. Brown
  7. Thomas
  8. Epenesa - they lose me here
  9. Wirfs
  10. Lamb
  11. Jeudy - Woah..... Another head scratcher.

Simmons is at #14. I just don't see how he falls out of the top 10. he has a 92 coverage grade on PFF. At S/LBer. The dude is a Julio Jones level freak.

A lot of mocks have us taking AJ Espenesa. Isn't he strictly a 4-3 DE like Bosa?

Okay. When you look at the draft you have to think 2 years. Everybody is screaming we need a number 1 Wr.

I would love to get Lamb and keep Fitz which I believe will be his last year. Most receivers take a huge step in year two. Hopkins is a perfect example. Year one 52 catches 800 yards. Not too shabby. But he really came onto the scene in year two and exploded in year 3.

Then consider Kugler. He can take a third round pick and turn him into a very good player.

Unless there is a McGlinchy or a Quinten Nelson I’ll be more than happy with Kyler’s buddy.

again didn’t say he couldn’t play RT. I think he’s fine at RT but I think he’s special at guard.

he’s just a beast and seems to enjoy knocking guys around I think he has that nasty attitude.

didn’t Williams come out last year? This should of been Willis year to move to LT

If he's there, Isaiah Simmons should be the no brainer pick.

DJ is going be the LT and I'm not drafting a RT in the top 10 unless he's head and shoulders the best player on the board which would not be the case if Simmons is available.

What position hurt the Cards defense the most, TE's. Simmons shuts that down from day 1. He can run, he can tackle, can rush the passer, etc.

Here's his strengths from Walter football:

Strengths:

  • Instinctive
  • Sideline-to-sideline speed
  • Very good run defender
  • Excellent pass-coverage linebacker
  • Can cover running backs, tight ends, receivers
  • Rare cover skills for a linebacker; covers like a safety
  • Has covered slot receivers in man-to-man
  • Can run down the middle seam
  • Good vision
  • Reads plays well
  • Sideline-to-sideline speed
  • Superb at knowing when to fire off
  • Good pursuit defender
  • Closing quickness
  • Athletic
  • Dangerous blitzer
  • Excellent tackler
  • Open-field tackler
  • Hard hitter
  • Is an enforcer in the middle of the field
  • Never hesitates to get physical
  • Natural build
  • Covers a lot of ground in zone coverage
  • Can break down in space
  • Ability to redirect

I think the defense could use a guy like this over a RT.

Not a huge Walter football guy but damn @Cbus cardsfan..... We 100% agree.

Hicks and simmons at ILB would be one of the biggest position upgrades we could possibly make.

No way he doesn't shoot up the board at the combine.

he’s going top ten. The more I watch him the more I want him. He’s a “tweener” but he’s 6’4 230lbs he’s huge

Bucannon was 6’1 215
