Most often a "rookie" QB coming straight out of college is a must sit for a year unless he is the only QB or the franchise needs to sell tickets. IMO Max Hall is a different breed, he comes from the Quarterback factory that is BYU who runs a pro style west coast offense. There is no gimmick routes or 80% shoutgun.

Max Hall will turn 25 oct 1st which makes him a little older and more mature then most rookie QB. He is a humble down to earth guy and has the deamenor that reminds me of Kurt Warner who by the way has given praise to max hall. He is a leader and looks like he commands the respect of his teamates and takes control. If by some chance he does need to start after the bye week I would be fine with that and feel comfortable with him leading this team and who knows maybe he will be KW 2.0.

I feel more than comfortable with Max at QB.

He is a rookie and he will make mistakes. But he will also make plays.

Also a rookie doesn't usually take over a team that has all the weapons the Cards have. Typically a rookie would inherit a BAD team.

he is humble? why? because he is mormon? he didn't sound so humble in professing his hate for utah and their fans, as well as UA and their fans.

Haha. Yah, humble wouldn't be the best description. I don't really care though. Humble and coachable are different. I don't care if he is humble as long as he is coachable.

He could be humble and lovable, then his nickname would be...Underdog.....oh wait, that's already taken.

Like Crazy, I remain skeptical, but I've been wrong plenty of times before

On Max Hall's humbleness, Whisenhunt said it best when he said Hall's probably mad that he's not starting.

Leinart was mad he wasn't starting, but that was taken as a negative.
:D

Yeah, but did he look MAD when he played Thursday?

Did he scramble and lower his shoulder into a defender to gain a couple extra yards?

That's simply two of the many differences right there.

Well, Matt did scramble for a few yards off the left side.

By this Thursday's game he knew he was done in AZ and had the look of a guy who just didn't care. I don't blame him.

The game in Chicago, though, he looked like a guy who was mad.

Max Hall reminds me alot of Joe Germaine. He came in early, from OSU ;), and lit it up in pre-season. Both were very accurate smaller guys with good leadership skills. Germaine, I thought was going to be a star, and Vermeil named him the starter for an early season game. I can't remember if it was from injury or that Germain won the job, but after a horrendous game at the "real" NFL level, he was never heard from again and last I heard was playing Arena league ball. I don't know if that will be the case with Hall but let's not put him in the Cards ring of honor just yet.

And if Hall had gotten hurt?Or Leinart had gotten hurt?
Then the fans would say how dumb he was for not sliding.Face it Mitch....Leinart wasn`t going to get a fair shake and the Warner lovers would never like him.Now everyone is lining up to worship at Max Hall`s feet.Sorry color me very skeptical.I really hope the kid can do the job...because with Anderson throwing interceptionns Hall will get his shot.

What you may be overlooking, BW, is the fact that sometimes in order for a QB to win over his teammates he has to display some surprising toughness. Did you read Cole's article about Leinart where an anonymous Cardinal was extolling how tough Warner was and how he never complained? To say that Leinart didn't get a fair shake is a cop out. Leinart had four years under Whiz and in that time he was given numerous opportunities to prove his worth and his mettle. The facts are, Leinart squandered most of those opportunities and in the process he did not commandeer the respect of his teammates.

How could anyone watch the pre-season games this year and not be impressed with Max Hall? Early in TC, even before Hall played in the games, he was getting publicity and praise from national reporters such as Chris Mortensen and Peter King. How did he manage that? Well, obviously when they visited camp they thought Hall's play stood out. Do you think they came to Cardinals' camp expecting that?

As for the games themselves, I am not sure what else anyone could have asked from him save the one poor up for grabs interception he threw. Otherwise he was a ready to go catalyst who provided instant energy and spark and moved his team down the field with impressive regularity.

Thus far he's won me over. Count me lined up in his favor. The best news is he's winning the coaches and teammates over, which is a huge step in the right direction.

From today's MMQB, here's Peter King on Hall:

And now, getting to know two people you need to know:

Who Is Max Hall?

This is what you need to know about Max Hall, who -- you heard it here first -- will start at least one game at quarterback for Arizona this fall:

a. He is Danny White's nephew.

b. He's the grandson of Arizona Sports Hall of Famer Wilford White.

c. As a three-year starting quarterback for Brigham Young, he once threw seven touchdown passes in a game (against UCLA in 2008).

My take on Hall is that I think he has it but so did Jake Plummer.

The "it" factor is great but will only carry you so far because in the NFL they will claw at every weakness you have until they find one to bury you with.

The key as always is does he have one that bad that they can bury him with?

Dunno but I bet we find out.

Max Hall is cocky but he has the ability to back up his play. And you would expect that cockiness from anyone who wants to start as QB in the NFL.

who the heck has this "Quarterback Factory" produced in the last 20 years who amounted to anything?

Two things.

1) I think Hall might be a smarter player than Jake, although Jake was smart enough to make a whole pile of money and still retire with his health.

2) I think Max has more to work with than Jake ever had when he was a Cardinal.

You, obviously, don't recognize IT!!! IT does not care where you were drafted. IT will come out and haunt you. IT does not care what college team you played for. IT does not care if you won a national championship. IT will come out and surpass all. HE HAS IT!!!!
