If you have watched this team over the last few years, you'd realize that its much worse than even last year. Porters offense is MUCH worse than DA's and his defense is as bad or worse as well. But you know, good defensive teams are built not in practice, but with the proper personnel. The idea that this suns teams would get better defensively with just a coaching change assumed it was the coach that caused bad defense. Perhaps now more ASFN posters realize that it starts with good defenders. Rick Addelman coaches one of the best defenses in the NBA, in the rockets. Chuck Hayes, Kark Landry, Battier, alston and artest would be good defenders for any coach. Guys who can play at that level or above on one roster means good defense. For every player that is a poor defender, you must have maybe 2 good ones. The suns dont have a player on the entire roster that will get any defensive consideration for even the 3rd team all NBA. the lakers are not a greatr offensive team, but they do have some good defenders(kobe, ariza, odom, bynum). The suns are much worse defensively than the amare/KT suspension team. It all started when KT left, the demise of whatever defensive skills were there.
