Is this really necessary Kurt?

CT I can see some of that but Kurt's a competitor, he hates to lose and I think when we see him arguing with Haley etc, it's because of that.

I didn't like Kurt using the 49ers as leverage either but it's a business and in the end he's only got so long left so he might as well maximize the money if he can. Didn't like it then but in hindsight it bothers me much less.

The way Kurt played that 4th quarter was remarkable, if only the defense had held or if Pope hadn't essentially helped Harrison score we win the Super bowl and that wouldn't have happened if not for Kurt.

I don't argue that for a second Russ. The Cards don't even come back in that one if not for his play in the second half. Also if the refs called one of the three blocks in the back on that return the Steelers don't score either.

I know football is highly emotional and people say things that they don't mean. It's just to me some of the comments and antics are just so antithical as to the person he is off the field. I don't even think this comment is that big of a deal, but whe taken into account with everything else for me it's just easy to deduce that here he is throwing someone else under the bus again.

As far as the contract here is my take: he just used our rival to get more money for himself. Because of that and the $25 mil or whatever it is fans will not accept 9-7 and a short run in the playoffs, nor excuses like my WR ran 14 yards on a 12 yard route. There is going to be an enoumous amount of pressure on him to repeat last years success becuase of how he got that contract.

Well stated CT and credit where credit is due you explained how you look at it perfectly. It was not a preordained opinion of Kurt that you could not get over just things that you recognized and made you go hmmmm.....I might not have handled it like that...others had a preordained "hes a thumbkin" type attitude and never have been able to really get past there bias even with the guy leading us to a Super Bowl. Now if and when he struggles it will be he was always a bum ....because they could not see past there disjointed view of Kurts successes. He deserves a lot of credit in putting this team on a firm footing to being a legit NFL threat and not an after thought from around the league. He is not the future of the team at QB but he has helped make the future better for the Arizona Cardinals and we all owe him a debt of gratitude for that. We have suffered like no other group of fans for many years to get to a Super Bowl. We would not have done it with out Kurt Warner period. Those that want to cling to there former opinions of him from his early time with the Cards and his struggles with the Rams. I have no use for you. Plain and simply you suck for making them a topic for conversation.

I didn't finish rewatching the game but I'll say this, after watching the first 3 quarters again we were actually extremely fortunate to be close at all going into the 4th. If you remember Dockett stops Ben inches from the TD, they called it a TD live and we win the challenge, 4 point swing. The goalline stand in the 3rd holds them to another 3, they could have easily had 28 and not needed that final drive.

Of course by the same token if Kurt doesn't get picked, or if Pope doesn't run into him guaranteeing Harrison scores, or yes if they call the blocks in the back they don't score there and we still likely win.

I guess I just think that ultimately if both Whiz and Haley said we lined up wrong there, we probably did. And if Kurt says guys have been running the wrong routes in preseason I'm inclined to believe him, afterall 2 starters have barely played.

Maybe he doesn't need to say it out loud but maybe he thinks he does, not to throw someone under the bus, but to remind the team that the LITTLE things were huge in us getting that far last year and if we want to get back, we need to do those little things?

I pray for the CARDINALS sake we take the lead and NEVER relinquish it in this Sundays game.If its close and Warner is looking iffy.I can hear the crowd already calling for Leinart.

This could really get ugly if we don't get this team off to a good start this year.We need Boldin to be game ready and for us to use all of those things we practiced so hard on in pre-season in the hurry up offense and many other high octane plays we never even attempted in our 4 pre-season games.

The whiners are gonna be very solid on "D".We're gonna have to go for the jugular and not play the game to close to the vest as Whiz has a tendancy to kinda reign things in if he thinks the defense can just hold them one more time. That time never comes and we should have kept the pedal to the metal earlier.

I just hope Coach Whiz has learned from his first time at calling plays and lets Kurt have a say in what is looking open for us to run.We need the whole place to stay crazy from begining to end.Not turn on ourselves, especially in a whiner game.I'm already working myself into a frenzy.I'll have all my superstitious stuff ready that I did last year before every game.We can't let thier half azz qb look like a pro-bowler,is all I know.We need to put him down early and rattle him all game.Hope coach Davis has been sandbagging some stuff for the real season also.

Too many people are very ready to go off on Kurt this year,if he starts slow.He just needs to step up on his throws like he was'nt doing during the pre-season and just take the hits he has always taken in the past.Get up dust himself off and get back into the huddle.Never seen him go down with a phantom hit.Sunday will be here soon enough.

...and Giants.

Seriously, though. Warner played OUT OF HIS MIND for us last year. That's fantastic. I think every Cardinals fan on this board hopes he can be even 85% of what he was in 08.

But it's also not out of Cardinals fandom's purview to think that Warner isn't the best human being to walk the Earth since Jesus or Buddha or Ghandi (the real one, not the one who posts here).

Personally, I don't care if Warner is a shoplifting, horse-stealing maniac. I just want him to keep throwing TD and hanging on to the ball when he gets hit. If he doesn't do those things, you bet your arse I'll be calling for Leinart.
