Who wouldn't want 4,000 yards and 22 TD's? Carson Palmer can still play.

2 year $20M? I can live with it. Not the number I was hoping for, but not terrible. Starting QB money.

Note that amount was just an estimate by Ian Rapport so far. It is why he put that question mark in there in his tweet about it.

It could be lower or could be if he hits all incentives, we don't know yet for sure.

The key phrasing will be "up to" 20 mill.

7th rounder and conditional to boot??

absolute steal

Tell me about it: this is the first time in awhile that I feel like we actually got the better end of a deal. I think Arians, so far, is a bigger hardass when it comes to contracts than last years regime. Granted part of that is because the environment is different.

Kudos to Steve Keim and Jason Licht for getting it done at next to no draft compensation and a cost of less than the $11.5 million Kevin Kolb was slated to 'earn.'

I believe when it comes to bargaining that is more of Keim's job. Though I guarantee Arians was instrumental in getting Palmer to want to come here.

I dont think we draft a single QB this year.

I agree. With Palmer and Stanton here and with Ryan Lindley as the developmental project there is no need to force a pick. Grab a safety, pass rusher, cornerback.

I can't believe Keim and company didn't have to part with a 2013 draft pick. :)

True that, thanks for the correction. I've been sort of luke-warm on Keim but I'm pretty happy with this deal. Cardinal football last year was unwatchable and wasn't looking much better this year. Palmer isn't the answer, but at least I can turn on the game without flinching.

Darren Urban just retweeted this:

Evan Silva @evansilva 5m Greg Cosell told @ESPN_Colin in November that Carson Palmer was one of NFL's better QBs not getting any credit. "Buried by a bad FB team."

Time to get excited for the first time in four years about Cardinal football.

Conditional 2014 7th rounder...so not much to give up.

Two years, up to 20mil...no long term commitment.

Good deal for the Cardinals, and uses up that money they were sitting on. Now, on to the draft.

I'd still like to see Geno Smith as a Cardinal and compete with Palmer for the starting position next season.

NOW WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH THIS !?!

But, in all seriousness. I feel like this is Kevin Kolb part II.

Carson Palmer is better then Kevin Kolb no doubt.

The similar feeling is that the move is certainly not "great", but more of a situation where it "needed to be done".

Anyway, I think it is a good move, but I am cautiously optimistic. Last time I thought a QB was good for a system he got sacked twice in the endzone in consecutive offensive plays.

We will see, but Palmer's got my support and hope.

Doesn't this clarify our draft immensely? Do we go heavy oline now? Or Oline, LB-rusher, safety, etc?

+1

Love the contract. Again, another manageable contract. Good stuff.

$10 million guaranteed which is probably the signing bonus + first year salary. We may still have SOME room, e.g. 2-3 million + the rookie pool depending on the size of the signing bonus.

Wow! That's highway robbery

They are poker stars

It's O line all the way in the draft

Palmer won't handle taking 15 hits a game...especially with Levi Brown at LT.

Please refrain from trying to determine who does what in the FO!:)

Palmer gets $16M over 2 yrs (and can earn $4M more in incentives). $10M of the deal is guaranteed
